Very relaxing and comfortable. Great sunset views. Plenty of room. We went there every night either before or after dinner – great place to relax and unwind at the end of the day

“Beautiful hotel bar....and a must for a sunset”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2014

Bottom line, you will be sorry if you don't stop by the St Regis Bar for a sunset and adult beverage. The lobby area and magnificent views were absolutely worth the trip. I would recommend getting there early as it gets crowed as the sunset gets closer. The drinks were a little expensive BUT were superior.. We tried a couple of the small plates and they were ok.
We had a fun happy hour and chatted with some nice folks in the bar. The folks at the outside bar get a bit territorial as the sun main event nears. Oh well, we all share the same sun.
The ritual of the sabering of champagne was interesting. They had live musical entertainment as well.

“Wonderful Setting...So-so Food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2014

The St. Regis is most likely the prettiest spot on the island for a great view of Hanalei Bay. The drinks are great, especially the Mai Tai. Food is just average....nice names and descriptions on the menu, but the taste/quality of the food is not any better than what you will find in an average restaurant on the mainland, especially the sushi. During the evening we went on July 4th, the service was extremely slow. However, once we inquired with a manager and finally got a hostess, things seemed to go smoothly.

“The Top Sunset Location in Princeville, Hawaii”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2014

We have been staying in Princeville for three days now, and we have already been to the St. Regis Bar for sunset twice. First time it was spitting rain, but that did not take away from the magnificent beauty of the surrounding areas. You will enjoy views of the mountains, the Pacific water's edge, the mystical cloud coverage, and the setting sun (into the clouds both times, but the colors are stunning).

Bianca has helped take care of us as a server on both occasions, and she keeps a smile on and a great attitude running even though the Bar Area is clearly understaffed. (Not sure why Resort Bar Managers can't seem to figure out that you need to add a couple extra servers into the mix for peak hours of sunset viewing when needed - here at the St. Regis I can imagine that is EVERY day of the week).

We waited at least 8 minutes to be greeted on our first visit - another 6 to get the wine - another 15 to get the food delivered. I am thinking in terms of how much more money could be made if you just took care of the guests in a timely manner (many guests left without ever being asked if they wanted a drink while they enjoyed sunset - and they would have!).

Wine selections are lovely - limited but lovely. Appetizer menu is diverse enough to fit many people's desires, and the flavors were great on both the cheese plate we ordered along with the Wild Mushroom Spring Rolls (a yummy Galangal Sauce accompanies these rolls). The cheese plate could have been re-tooled with more fresh dried fruit from the island, some local honey drizzled on the plate, and switch out the chewy bread with some great local crackers or crisps.

Overall - a lovely place to catch a Princeville Sunset - just be ready to ask for service quickly.

“What a View”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2014

We did not eat anything besides the snacks they bring you, but the drinks were great and you'll never see a sunset like that in your life again! Oh and the sabering of the champagne at 7:00 every night is pretty fun too. Come early to get a decent seat.
