We came here on a recommendation, plus we were enamored with the fact that Todd Rundgren's wife owned it. LOVED the place. Kitschy. Decorated completely like a tiki bar, as you would expect. Fun! If you get a Mai Tai ask for a "Hawaiian" Mai Tai. I didn't ask correctly and it was super strong and rummy. oof.
We went there mid-week, around 8pm. We sat at our table after a drink at the bar, around 830pm and noticed we were one of 5 tables out of 15-20 tables, so we expected the service would be decent. Unfortunately, not so. Our waitress was so slow and inattentive. The first Item we had ordered, soup, didnt come for 45 minutes. We were also told they were out of the appetizer we wanted (we were told almost 45 minutes after we ordered it! we cancelled the apptz altogether). Our meals came about 15 minutes later and were tasty, but we were just ready to leave at that point because we were there so long.
Great atmosphere, great decor, great food. Service needs to be improved.
