This was our first time in Kauai and at the Cliffs. Traded through RCI. We had a nice stay in Building 1 on the ground floor. This is not a 5-star resort but it is nice, clean, and has everything you need. We were in a 1-BR with our 7-year old son and the size was perfect. No AC but having two lanais across from each other provided the perfect breeze. This is not on the beach, but the resort itself is on the ocean. We were in Building 1 which faces the parking lot and a wooded area but that did not bother us at all and in fact for how much we were actually there it was perfectly fine. The kitchen had everything we needed, and they provided beach towels, chairs, and a cooler for us to use which was very convenient. There were very clean gas grills near the units which we used at least 3 nights. Used the pool a couple of times as well and that was nice as well.

For those that are concerned about staying on the North Shore, we actually preferred it as we enjoyed the beaches and snorkelling on the North Shore and would rather drive to the other places for a visit vs. staying there.

Staff was nice and helpful, and we were not pushed (not even asked once) to attend a timeshare presentation unlike just about every other place we have been.

Great stay at the Cliffs!

The Cliffs was such a pleasant surprise. We ended up getting one of those rooms with a loft - and it was way too roomy, and I am not complaining. The front desk staff and concierge were very helpful. Everything in our room worked. I thought having no A/C was going to be an issue, but it wasn't. Since we were not in the hotel during the day (while exploring the island), the bulk of the heat would've happened during those peak hours. At night, the breeze and fan kept us cool.

The Cliffs had just about everything we needed....I will definitely come back.

This resort is a hidden jewel in Princeville. Kauai is such a beautiful island with many memorable views. While it is a drive from other parts of the island the drives are very pleasurable. The unit is beautiful with quite a wow factor when you first walk in. The rroms are quite large and the beds very comforatble. Everything that was needed for the week stay was provided for. Although there is no air conditioning when both lanai's are open the trade winds provide a delightful cross breeze. The only thing that was a negative was the roosters crowing at 6am but as the week went on you got somewhat used to them. Would definelty stay at Cliffs again.

I've been to Kaua'i for the 3rd time, and have always stayed in Kapaa at the Kauai Coast Resort. This time, through booking with Shell Vacations, the unit that was available was at The Cliffs. Few of my concerns - 27 miles from the airport, not a beach front property (although resort has ocean views).

Well - the concerns didn't matter after all. We got a 1 bedroom with loft unit with an ocean view. It was quite big for my somewhat big family - we have 4 little kids. We had so much room!!! Amazing. The loft was a nice addition, making it feel like we were staying at a real apartment.

The beach access, although the nearest one was 1 mile away (through St. Regis), it didn't matter, since our goal was to drive around the island and search and experience a different beach each day.

We took advantage of the tennis courts, the pool, playground, putting green, and the boogie boards that were available for us to borrow. That saved us some money too by not having to rent boogie boards.

As timeshare owners, we had access to free WiFi. That's a big plus for me. For the most part, we truly explored the island, and we were at the resort only at night and mid morning....

Will definitely come back!!!!!

We stayed in a four bedroom unit at Cliff's overlooking the ocean June/July 2010. Beautiful views from the kitchen and living room balcony. The bedrooms and living areas were beautifully decorated with a well stocked kitchen. The unit included flat screen TVs in bedrooms and living room and wireless internet service. They provided coolers and ice for our use which was a nice touch. The pool area is fabulous with the waterfalls and lava rock border. Our children enjoyed the pool and the adjacent play area. The lack of airconditioning was a blessing - cool evenings and breezes were a real treat as was awakening to the sound of birds singing. The property has it's own flock of Nene Geese that wandered in front of our condo each day. We heard few roosters though were told the property has some. Great location in the wealthy Princeville community too. We loved it and can not imagine staying any where else on Kauai.

NOTE TO ADMIN: Please post all my photos. My last review, most photos were removed and did not get posted. Thanks.

We are timeshare owners for 4 years now and have been using the loft unit each year. After the remodel, the units are in top shape with new furnishing, drapes, washer, dryer, dishes, linens including 6 beach towels, etc. New features are free internet access and the use of 2 beach chairs and collapsible cooler. New carpet in bedrooms and hardwood floor in living room made a big difference. Furnishings are island theme. Sofa is very comfortable. Sheets are soft and clean. Sheer curtain and thick drapes make it really nice to get privacy as well as getting maximum use of trade wind blowing. No more vertical blinds that clang at night if the patio window is opened. Pool and hot tubs are excellent. Electronic safe box is wide enough to have extra room width-wise even with a 15" laptop. 3 flat screen TVs: living room, master bedroom and loft bedroom plus ipod docking station in living room entertainment nook. Staff is very friendly. The cleaning team did an excellent job of mid-week cleaning. Pictures attached of corner unit in building 9, unit 9301.

This is our third time at Cliffs and each time it gets better and now it's great. Great King beds, top quality linens, current kitchen appliances and lots of them including blender, coffee maker, MW, full stove, fridge, DW, lots of dishware and cookware.
The condo units have been upgraded wth modern, island inspired furnishings, hardwood floors, great amenities, a new pool lined with lava rock and water fall that has a seperate part of kids, two spas, upgraded tennis courts, putting area, BBQ under lanais, hammocks over looking the cliffs. Many of the units do look out over the cliffs onto the ocean. Each evening in the summer months, the sunset is spectacular and people bring their drinks and cameras to the cliffs edge to watch it. There is a lot of land here, this is unique among timeshare properties. Because it is a one-off timeshare (not part of a chain) there is great care put into the maintainance-the housekeeping is first rate-once per mid week is standard, more upon request. We have been to a lot of timeshare properties and Cliffs Club really ranks high. It is great for families or couples. Hanalei and Princeville offer endless opportunities for fun, exploration and varied beach and snorkeling/scuba to do. Our teens went to surf camp for $70.00 for the day and had a blast. the farmers market on Sat and Tues is ONO (amazing). we love that we can buy this great local grown food and fresh fish and make it ourselves. book at cliffs, you will be happy you did.
