“Went for the sunset--not worth it if you're not going to snorkel”

Considering this place has only 9 parking spots, a horrible walk down using rickety ropes and broken pipe, no bathroom and it very small, it's not worth doing what we did which was go for sunset. If I did it again I would only go for the snorkeling for a couple of hours early in the morning and then leave. Or I guess you could kayak over.

The paved path is definitely a leg killer and then entrance in and out of the water is a little slippery and not very graceful, but the snorkeling is awesome...tons of fish, a turtle and an eel! We spent a lot of time here.

Paddleboarding, kayaking, snorkelling, swimming and sunset photos. Recommend a visit if you venture to the north shore of Kauai.

On our first attempt a member of our group suffered a severe cut while using the rusty railing and we had to leave to seek medical attention.

The second visit was much more successful. Both times it took a bit of effort to get a parking spot, but it was worth it. Once you reach the bottom of the steep path (hold on to the rope) you're met by an incredible beach and as long as the tide is right (high tide) there is some great snorkeling.

Within a 5 minute walk from the St. Regis, it has a very steep climb down to the beach but there are rails and ropes. Very quiet, small beach, great snorkeling- sea turtles and tons of colored fish. Be careful of the surf- it can be strong so don't snorkel alone.
