Kauai Grill is consistently good. The prices are high, but what you'd expect from a St. Regis resort. I do agree that for restaurant of this caliber and price, the service could be better. Better training of wait staff, although maybe it is difficult to find waiters other than the typical surfer who prefers to work evenings. I find that most restaurants on Kauai lack the service found in other places.

Last evening we had dinner at the Kauai Grill which is located at the St. Regis' in Princeville. From the moment we arrived we were treated with wonderful Hawaiian hospitality. The staff was very attentive and the food was local, fresh, creative and wonderful! Antonio the restaurants manager checked in with us several times during our meal to ensure all was just perfect. Chris our waiter did an excellent job in serving us and explaining each of the courses and the chef did an amazing job in accommodating my allergy to sesame and preparing a wonderful 'tasting meal' for us. All in all a perfect night and a wonderful experience. Highly recommend!!

Over forty dollars for a grilled piece of fish...Open rarely at a large resort - need I say more?? The service was spotty and the other prices were oppressive.

Located in the St. Regis Hotel, the Grill room is contemporary, sophisticated, warm and elegant with a stunning view. The seating is a combination of tables and booths. All the tables do not share the same view, some are much better than others. Our waitress was professional and attentive but also delightful.

This was our last night on Kauai so my wife and I wanted a memorable experience. We had four cocktails, short ribs, mahi mahi, sides of asparagus and mashed potatoes. The food was fantastic. The bill ,including tip, was $300.

Both the food and the check were memorable. If the dinner price is beyond your budget, go to the St. Regis lounge about an hour before sunset and sit outside and nurse a cocktail or glass of wine (about $15 each) until the sun has dipped below the horizon. The view and setting are spectacular. Then go for dinner at the Tavern in Princeville. The food is just as good and you will do the evening for half the price. But do go to the St. Regis for the sunset.

Amazing food and great service. The Mahi Mahi is a must try. We booked our reservation around 6pm and we were able to watch the sunset over Hanalei.
