Thought we'd drop in one evening for a cocktail...and was very disappointed as the couches and seats were dirty...waiter kept coming back multiple times to ask us if we wanted food, another drink!!!! Not a relaxing, classy bar, but maybe those days are gone at this St Regis...since it was that way, years ago.

My husband and I had the privilege of being able to visit and enjoy our honeymoon at the St. Regis Princeville resort after getting married the previous week at the Sheraton Resort in Poipu. My aunt is a local on the island, told us great things about the resort, helped us book our hotel accommodations, and the rest is history! We enjoyed the service very much. It was definitely an unforgettable vacation that we will never forget! We had a great experience the moment we checked in up front & were escorted in by the bell hop, to the last day upon checking out.
One thing that made it even more special is the special service that we received from a couple members of the St Regis Princeville security staff :)
We encountered a tiny problem, to say the least, when my husband accidentally left his wedding band by the sink in the restroom after washing his hands after a workout in the resort's fitness center. When he realized he had forgotten the ring, it had only been 20 minutes, and the ring was already long gone.
After filing a report with security and doing lots of searching, the ring did not turn up anywhere, nor was it ever turned in....
After two full days of hoping & keeping our fingers crossed that some honest person would turn it in, we had almost given up. The morning that we were scheduled to check out, we got a call that brought us exciting news!  They had recovered our precious ring! Miraculously, and after lots of brainstorming & hard work and perseverance, the security team had gone above and beyond and tracked the person who found and took the ring on surveillance cameras and were able to speak to the guest who ended up handing the ring back over. We were shocked to be so lucky and could not be more thankful to the security team that took the time to make the extra effort for us. What they did was extraordinary, and for that, we are thankful!
We are already planning our return to the island and hope to visit the beautiful St. Regis again!

Mahalo!

(sent directly to the St. Regis Princeville Resort on Kauai, Hawaii)

Normally we are in France celebrating our anniversary, either in our Paris apartment or on our rental penichette on the River Mayenne in the Loire Valley, France. This year was quite different. Since retiring from NYC to our new home in Kaneohe, Oahu our monthly France vacation was in June. We decided on The St. Regis mainly for the Kauai Grill. We have been following Jean George Vongerichten since he came to NYC in 1987. We actually know him. When we told him that we were coming to the St. Regis for our anniversary his eyes sparkled. He said great choice. We are not hotel people. We prefer rental apartments wherever we go. We love the joy of going to the farmers markets and cooking a number of our own meals. We also prefer to be as far as we can from the crowds. Upon entering your "chateau" our wariness was totally dissipated. Everyone "seemed" to know us! We felt like family. Any minor problems were quickly and calmly dealt with. Special things, such as the book commemorating our anniversary in 1969 to the sparkling wine left in our room just added to that special theme. Never once did we feel like we were at one of "those" massive hotels that is a world into their own. It was amazing how your hotel Ecologically formed into the island landscape.

Again, thanks for making our 44th Wedding Anniversary one we will never forget.

MAHALO!

I just got back from a trip to Kaua'i and stayed at the St. Regis Princeville for 3 nights. I booked the day before I arrived and asked for their lowest rates. Thankfully, their lowest rate was their Kama'aina rate, and I was able to scoop up the savings!

I've stayed at a few different hotels on the islands using or requesting a Kama'aina rate and so far the St. Regis Princeville offered the greatest discount! I was impressed! I've heard rates can be even lower than what I paid, depending on the season.

So, if you're local, and have your Hawaiian ID, make sure you inquire about their Kama'aina rates. They might be a lot lower than what you expect! And they also offer discounts on Valet and dining at Makana Terrace!

It was worth it for me to stay there. I enjoyed my room, it was Garden/Mountain View with a private lanai. The food was good as well, and the location on Hanalei Bay, beautiful.

Next time I'm booking an Ocean View Suite! :)

This is one of the most magnificent views in the world.
The hotel itself is nothing to write home about, but the service and views make this a wonderful destination.
Rooms: have been updated, but have no balconies.
Beach: hard to swim in as it is so shallow, but there are plenty of other beaches in the area to visit
Staff: always looking to help. We got great advice on snorkeling and eating out.

We honeymooned here in January 2013. The hotel and our room was pristine. The bartenders are welcoming and friendly. The pool is like nothing I've ever experienced. And, its locations right on Hanalei Bay, the view cannot be beat. The spa is great, but very pricey. $200 for a massage. Breakfast is served on a patio overlooking the bay, its pricey but a nice treat at least once.

Room Tip: Ask for a ground floor room with a patio that is a little to the east of the pool. You get more pri...

The location is gorgeous, the most stunning sunset in the Island. The room (ocean view) was quite big, as well as the bathroom. My only complaint is the mini bar. The room has only a wine cooler, which is not enough to chill beverages. And you have to buy snacks and beverages in the lobby's shop (lots of options) because there is only coffee in the room. The staff is really nice, specially Gloria, the concierge. The spa was great also, as well as the restaurants. highly recommend it.
