Our stay here this summer was memorable if for the location alone. Overall I rate this St Regis almost on par with most others bur for the dated hallways, carpet and general feeling of any resort style hotel of 4-5 stars found in California or on the coasts. What this place has is the incomparable views. They are amazing from most every room. Unfortunately, even the premier oceanfront are all the same size...small and no balcony. They are however very comfortable and perfectly decorated with the modern accent and luxury items typical of the brand. Still i was unsatisfied and wanted a larger room and balcony. We were on the island for only 3 days so I managed so i persisted with the manager on duty to negotiate a cheaper rate on one of the larger suites with a balcony. Even at half price it was more than I've ever spent on a hotel room. Im a pretty jaded Starwood habitué but even so this was fabulous accommodations. Since it was our first time here and a special occasion it was worth it. We loved spending more time in the room and enjoying breakfast in and lingering with the magnificent views---as opposed to heading right to the Beach and pool. However, for most couples it's probably a bit too much if you plan to be on the go all the time. Has some issues with the spotty service at Kauai Grill and the fact they were advertising entree items on their website and Facebook page that were no longer available. For the most part a great stay and memorable trip.

Room Tip: Most every beach side room is smallish and no balcony unless on the lower floor or larger suites.

we stayed for a week and had a fantastic time. the views are incredible, and it was wonderful to come home to such a comfortable place. the room was spacious, if not superfancy, and the pool and beach were great. breakfasts on the terrace are a very pleasant way to start the day. and nothing was too much to ask from the friendly staff.

We went here on our honeymoon. I would stay here a million times over. I can't wait until we can make it back there. They upgraded us and left us a complimentary bottle of champagne in our room with a handwritten note. Doesn't get better than that. Staff is all so attentive, helpful, friendly.

Beautiful property. Scenery is amazing. The pool and beach are wonderful. Never had trouble getting a spot at the beach or pool. Have great food and drink service at beach and poolside. The property is well located if you are looking to hang out on the north shore.

Went to the St. Regis for a cocktail and to watch the sunset.
True, the Ginger Margarita was $15, but it was delicious. And for that price you can sit on the terrace and watch a beautiful sunset, you get a little bowl of nuts and rice snacks, and you see the champagne ceremony.
All in all, it's worth it to enjoy an hour of luxury at the fanciest hotel in Princeville.

Wonderful stay. Had a few issues with noise and it was resolved quickly by Patrick Schanze the manager on duty who then sent us a bottle of wine. We never had a chance to say thank you, but he really made a difference in our stay. We also had a wonderful meal at the Kauai Grill. Thanks in no small part to the GM Leon Pellicier. Our thanks to Doug for great Butler services, who was delightful and informative. Loved Mediteranean Grille!

Had a great experience here. While there were some hiccups like not getting the complimentary morning paper or having a broken coffee maker, etc., these types of issues were promptly resolved and you can't beat the view or quality of accommodation. This is a great value for spg cash and points and if you're lucky you'll get upgraded to an ocean front room with terrace...which was amazing. Steps to the beach, spacious room, great room view. What more could one ask for. The one major downside was no minifridge to hold our snacks (that dings them a star for me), but i suppose thats intentional on their part as they have a captured audience.
Service was mostly (95%) friendly, and while it seemed fake at times there are plenty of genuine folk here too. This is *the* Starwood property to stay at on the island IMHO and gets rave reviews for a reason. I did not think it was overrated. It's just gonna cost ya if you're willing to pay for such luxury ;)

This St. Regis is absolutely perfect. Everything about it boosts luxury. The staff is loves working there. Everyone working there are passionate about the hospitality industry, thus delivering an amazing experience to us the guest. Talking to one of the employees, she was telling us how they stay once a year on property as guests. This was brilliant as it gave them a point of view from the guests perspective. I dont know who wouldnt love this place! Its paradise on earth.

Just a few cons to keep it real : Westin guests are allowed to come to the beach there. It tends to get crowded and messy as they travel with bags of drinks and snacks to save money.
Dont order the pork flat bread at the pool restaurant, its the only no no on the menu. Greasy and flavorless. We missed the free snorkle gear.

Room Tip: All rooms have amazing views.
