We REALLY enjoyed our stay at 24C. The condo was stacked with everything we could possible need. And the layout and design is beautiful. We loved every minute of our vacation in Kauai.

We stayed at a condo in the Nihilani Complex in March 2009, I have been meaning to write this review for quite some time! We rented through a private owner, their website is www.nihilanikauai.com. I can't remember the condo number, it might have been 5C....See their site for more information and pictures.

They have a ground floor two bedroom unit with a nice layout and great finishings. The furniture and décor was well selected and cared for, and the unit was clean and in good shape. The living room had a ground floor lanai which overlooked the mountains. There was a fairly busy street between us and the mountains, but the sound and traffic actually was not bothersome. The unit was a fair walk to the pool and bbq area, however at the time we stayed there they provided a golf cart free of charge which was kept in the garage. It was very handy to hop in and get over to the pool, or to run over and cook up some meat on the bbq. Pool area is tropical and fabulous, our only complaint was the pool was not heated and it was too cold that time of year to enjoy. I only went in once for five minutes! Brrrr….

The garage was also equipped with your typical beach supplies as well as snorkel gear. The unit owners were friendly and easily reachable, the transactions went smooth and their policies/paperwork top notch (they run a good business). We spoke with some other visitors in the complex, turns out there are many rental units as well as residents. Look around on vrbo.com, there are lots of units listed there as well, all for competitive pricing. I would recommend this unit/complex to families or couples or seniors; appropriate for everyone. There’s no ocean view, but we didn’t mind as we spent our days down in Hanalei Bay or other beaches. We’ve been to Kauai three time and always stayed in Princeville area, I find it to be the most beautiful. If you have any questions, feel free to message me! I have also written reviews on Alii Kai 1 and Villas of Kamalii.

We really enjoyed our stay in 24C. It is set up well. We stayed there with my parents and our two kids. The 6 of us had lots of space and the bedroom set ups are nicely done. The location is close to everything on the North side of the island and not bad to the rest of the island. The unit could use some bikes and maybe some boogies boards but other than that everything is provided.
The A/C is great for night time sleeping. It allows you to sleep in without the roosters waking you up. We didn't use it during the day just opened the windows.

Room Tip: Choose 24C

We spent a week in Unit 27A with my family of 4 (2 kids ages 8 and 10) and had an amazing trip. The condo is absolutely beautiful, with every amenity you could possibly want. It was great to have a full kitchen so that we could prepare healthy meals for ourselves. The beds were comfortable and I loved going out on the lanai's for early morning relaxation. We had occasion to contact the property manager (Kristen) a few times and she was wonderful to work with. The condo has several beach toys in the garage (boogie boards, some snorkel equipment, sand toys) which were very nice to have on hand. The only negative we could think of was that the pool in the condo complex has some pretty strict rules. It wasn't really a great place for kids to go. It was immaculate and a beautiful pool/hot tub, but every time we went to swim we were told we couldn't do what we were doing. Basically, the rules are no noise, no pool noodles, no rafts, no snorkels, etc. I think they should just put up a sign that says NO KIDS because kids inevitably will make a little noise while swimming. Our kids weren't being loud at all...no shouting or yelling, just normal pool giggling. The resident manager who drives around all day making sure people are following the rules in the complex could relax just a tad. My husband and I enjoyed the hot tub by ourselves, but our kids couldn't have any fun. I wouldn't decide against this condo based on the pool itself though, you don't really need a pool when you're this close to beautiful beaches! We can't wait to return to Kauai and our fabulous "Hawaii house" as the kids call it.

The units are very nice but the overall complex has been built on top of each unit. The parking situation with each individual garages is very difficult and not very easy to get in and out of due to the way the units were built. There is vistor parking which you can't park in therefore you have to park by the entrance of the complex and walk. The pool was suppose to be heated but it was super cold to the point we actually had to use another pool in a different complex. Overall experience not so great as I have been coming to Kauai / Princeville for 30 years and wouldn't stay in this complex again not to mention the complex sits on the main road that services Princeville therefore the noise level was load up until 2am. The management of the complex is horrible as this truly isn't a place to stay if your a vistor to the island but rather a resident complex.

Room Tip: If you stay in this complex stay as far away from the main road as possible.

Hawaii brags of "Aloha".. We experienced much of it in our travels on the island.... Too bad we stayed at Nihilani though. They boast of the beautiful pool.. Looks nice eh? NOT!! The waterfall was not on our entire stay. They claimed people try to ride down it. We were scolded by the management about the noise of our children, poolside, constantly. Once even when it wasn't our children! We have never experienced such a hostile environment, ever in our travels. Many wonderful places to stay in Kauai, This is not one of them. If you have children and think this looks like the ultimate vacation... Think again! We left and stayed at Pali Ke Kua our last two nights. What a breath of fresh air removing our family from a [--] environment.

This place looks beautiful in photos, but if you have kids BEWARE. The management at Nihilani is outright discriminatory against children. Pool looks nice -- great place for the kids to play, right? WRONG! If they make a peep, the management will be down your throats to tell them to be quiet, and not in a nice way either. Rude, rude, rude. I have stayed in many wonderful hotels and vacation rentals all over the world and never have I been treated the way my family was treated here. If you are under 55 years of age, STEER CLEAR.
