We are owners at Westin Villas and this was out first stay on Kauai. It is a typical Westin property and very similar to the Villas on Maui, but without the beach access. Beach access is available at the nearby St Regis with all amenities. Pool access at the St Regis is NOT included. You can also take the short walk down to the end of Anini beach, or the short 10 minute drive there. Hanalei is a short drive away and the nearby market is almost walkable it is so close.Keep in mind this is not really a typical 'resort' hotel, its an owner based timeshare property. Most of the negative reviews I read don't seem to get that. Overall makes for a great property to see Kauai from, Poipu is a quick 1 hour drive, Lihue, only 45 minutes. We will certainly be back.
We also had a few service calls, some weird bug built a nest behind a patio cushion which they came and took away. Service calls were handled promptly and always followed up with a phone call.

Aloha pjlord: We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your first owner stay with us at The Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas. Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are located on an ocean bluff and do not have direct access to a beach, however are very fortunate to have the privilege of having access to the St Regis Beach as well as having a number of white sand beaches located nearby and a short 5 – 10 minute drive from the resort. It was nice to see that you enjoyed our beautiful island including Poipu and Lihue and that you also enjoyed the conveniences of your home resort with the spacious accommodations. We look forward to welcoming you back for your next ownership stay with us. Mahalo and Be Well!

Our family stayed for a week during July. They have 2 pools for adults and one large family pool area with 3 more pools. They do have a slide area in the pool and some other water toys. There is also pool side service for food and drinks.

Our room was a one bedroom villa with a kitchen, washer/dryer and full size refrigerator. The furnishings were nicely appointed and well maintained.

The westin does a very nice job working on maintaining the resort.

He location of the resort is great.

Overall, nice family stay with plenty of activities to keep kids and adults active.

Room Tip: By the adult pools

The resort sits up on a cliff bluff, therefore a short walk from any room will give you the best views in the area. Short drive to Hanalei and the beach and town there. A true tropical oasis.

Cute little bar area for daily drinks. One of our travel mates took the free ukulele lessons they offered that week and had a great time.

New and clean workout gym/center.

The only negative, is the drive down to the south end of the island if you want to visit Poipu area.

My husband I just recently completed a week stay at the Westin. We are Starwood Vacation Owners and opted to use staroptions for our week stay. We were located on the second floor of building 3 in a studio. This space proved to be quite adequate for the two of us. There was a satisfying view from this building of the ocean. It was very relaxing to sit on the balcony at sunrise and sunset. The room was very clean, and meticulous care was given to the grounds on a daily basis.

The check-in process was absolutely wonderful, as we arrived after 8:00pm exhausted and starving. The front desk staff did not hesitate to take our luggage and car while we caught a late dinner at the Nanea Restaurant. Once we finished dinner, we walked in our villa to find all of our belongings neatly put away. Everyone we met was very friendly and eager to assist us with all our needs.

We brought dry snacks with us, and bought perishable essentials at the Foodland market adjacent to the Princeville entrance. We also took advantage of the opportunity to enjoy the St. Regis amenities. Complimentary valet parking is offered to Westin guest. This made it convenient to access the property and other notable surrounding areas on this end of Princeville. We enjoyed dining at the Makana Terrace for Sunday Brunch and the Mailani Dinner show. Both occasions provided simply delicious dining, superior hospitality, and excellent views.

The only negative we encountered was our food and service at the Westin’s Nanea restaurant. In comparison to other locations we dined at while on the island, this was by far nowhere near the best. The food was not very good, especially after some other places we tried while there. The service was mediocre. The server was respectful and friendly, however she was not very attentive to our needs. These two instances discouraged us from dining at this restaurant for the duration of our stay.

All and all, we had a great trip. We will not hesitate to stay at the Westin again when we return to Kauai.

Aloha tresktrips: We are delighted to see that you had a wonderful stay at The Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas. Thank you for recognizing the front desk staff and for the efficiency in the luggage delivery and ease of your check in. We are very fortunate to have the partnership with our sister resort, the St Regis Princeville that is located only 2 miles away. It is nice to hear that you had a chance to experience and enjoy some of the St Regis Princeville services. We are sorry to hear that you did not have a good experience at Nanea Restaurant. This is not typical of the feedback we normally get for Nanea and the leadership for the Restaurant has been made aware of your comments and will identify areas of improvement. We are happy to hear that you will stay with us in the future and we look forward to welcoming you back. Mahalo and Be Well!

The Westin in Princeville is near numerous beaches, the Queen's Bath, and hiking trails, and has a fabulous view of the mountains. The rooms are clean and well equipment. The property has amazing areas for families. As a couple without kids, we very much enjoyed the property also. The guests have options to forgo daily housekeeping for a credit towards food on the property, which is a very nice option. The kitchen area was well equipped. The staff was friendly and helpful. The property is clean and sets within a much larger resort/condo area. We took advantage of the St Regis 2 miles away, on the same larger property, for dinner. If you love being outdoors, this hotel is located in a perfect area for you.

Room Tip: If you ask for a room overlooking the gold course, you may also be overlooking the ocean. The inter...

Dear Sheri B: It is nice to hear that you had a wonderful stay with us. We are fortunate to have a number of great beaches located within a short drive from the resort in addition to having access to use the private beach at the St Regis Princeville. Really enjoyed our stay, especially with the 5 night package w/ rental car. It doesn't feel too crowded and the pool by our room in bldg 2 was pretty quiet.
Our concierge Judi Maxwell was just wonderful! I thought the check in meeting that was required with our package would just be a sales pitch. But she spent most of the time reviewing the Kauai map and gave us lots of helpful tips and recommendations. Also had a wonderful massage in the outdoor cabena. Easy to get appt and prices reasonable.
