We visit Kauai every winter and stay at our condo in Princeville.

We travel a fair amount so when we go there we generally do not eat out a lot. When we do it is usually with friends so we are looking for good food and a quiet place to visit, not "high end", although we do occasionally enjoy a first class experience.

This trip we met new friends and had our married kids with us. We made reservations for four and last minute the kids decided to join us. We advised the hostess as soon as we arrived, and you would have thought we just ran over her dog. After much fuss she finally "found" two tables together but would not join them. We probably would not have thought much about that except she did just that for another party behind us.

Fortunately the cocktail waitress and Steve the waiter were very pleasant and efficient. They mostly made up for the hostess.

We were seated in an outdoor covered area and a band next door made conversation challenging. Next time we will ask for a table indoors.

The food was served quickly and the portions were comfortable (we ordered the light chicken breast, it was a little dry.) The rest of the meal was good but not exceptional. The drinks were quite good.

All in all a good restaurant but the $30 average per guest as high for the value received

Three of us just ate at CJ's for dinner. We were first seated at the back of the restaurant outside it was noisy, smelly and very warm and cramped. I asked to be seated on the other patio at the front facing the parking and mountains, much better air flow there. This restaurant is very dimly lit and it was still daylight when we arrived. The restaurant is very tired and quite frankly DIRTY!
We all ordered the 11 oz prime rib and it took over an hour to get our food. The waiter and bus boy seemed quite put out that we were even there. The salad bar was limited and had some bugs flying around it. The cocktail waitress was friendly and competent and the drinks were good. We received the fixings for our potatoes, sour cream, butter, onions and bacon about half an hour before the meal arrived! When the meal arrived the baked potato was served by itself as a lump on a white plate and the meat was on another white plate with sauce and horseradish. The presentation was dismal to say the least. The meat was ordered medium and was under cooked and very tough to cut.
This restaurant has a long way to go in order to be brought up to any kind of minimum standards take your money somewhere else.

We ordered the salad bar. Not much selection and very pricey. We would not return due to price. The salad was ok but limited in selection. Other menu items were expensive.

We waited 15 minutes to be seated, then 15 minutes to order and finally another 52 minutes to be served lunch. The Ono in my Ono sandwich was dry, apparently frozen rather than fresh and then overcooked. My wife's Beefeater sandwich had knarly, fatty beef with a greasy au jus sauce. There are better ways to waste an afternoon on Kauai than this place.

We visited CJ's last night. Our waiter was friendly enough, but the food was rather bland. My husband and I both had fish. He had the mac nut ahi and I had the ebi in white wine sauce. Each entree was 29.95. We found them both to be very bland. The salad bar was fairly limited. Our kids had the burgers for just under 20 each. Nothing to write home about and no reason to return.
