Just like everyone else, I'll say this was a wonderful place to stay. The open-air lobby's view of the ocean caused me to stop for a moment to take it all in. The facilities are top notch but the staff is what I'll always remember. They were very attentive and pleasant. Drinks and towels were always waiting at the valet stand and the desk was very helpful. The rooms can be a long way from the lobby so I asked to be closer and it was no problem. I packed; they moved.

My suggestion is to purchase a room package that includes breakfast, as the buffet is pricey. But even without a deal, the breakfast buffet was so amazing, I never missed it.

Excellent visit. Excellent resort. Excellent location.

First appearances count, and in this case it certainly did. The lobby definitely has a huge wow factor- with views of the Pacific. It's massive, but the landscaping was exquisite, sometimes ridiculously so. Rooms were good.. Not great. Staff awesome. Lots and lots of pools.Food very expensive, so come on a food-inclusive plan if you can. If you do not, breakfast at the Poipu Club-House offers the best value for money in my opinion.

Getting lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean was an amazing experience.

Fabulous holiday.

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade if you can. They'll likely honour your request if they're able to.

We were very pleased with this hotel stay with our young kids (ages 4 & 6). We were there for 6 nights and the weather was great. The rooms were enormous. We would have been fine without connecting rooms (but still glad we had them!). The reviews were helpful and yes the food is expensive but we got a rate which included breakfast buffet. We liked our boat trip with captain Tara, learning about the Napali coast, and snorkeling with the turtles. I had our rooms at the pool end of the hotel on ground/garden floor. The 150' ft slide is fun, and the staff laid back. Service is ok. Surprisingly, the hotel was 100% full but never saw many people at the huge pool lagoon and there were always enough lounge chairs. The kids played baseball outside our room everyday on the grass. The parking lot was convenient and we walked to the other side of the hallway and out to the pool. Lots of good restaurants nearby including uncles for shave ice, lapperts icecream, brennekes for sunset dinner, beach house and all of the others at the shopping center at roundabout. We splurged on a helicopter ride (make sure floor to ceiling windows) with Island helicopter, drove to hanalei. Turn at Kalypso for the beach at the bay. We went too far. Love duke's restaurant at the marriott on rice street. bring bathing suits because you will want to go in the water after lunch.

Room Tip: for kids rooms at pool end of resort on ground level are best. rooms are big and comfortable. we had...

Aloha kateo90,

Thank you for your kind words! We are thrilled to hear that you and your family had a great stay and that we were able to provide you with connecting rooms. Snorkeling with the turtles must have been amazing and it's great that you and your family were able to learn more about the island on the boat tour as well. In addition, we are happy to know that you were able to explore the Poipu area and take advantage of other spots in the area. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the pool facilities and that your keiki (children) had fun on property. However, we regret to hear that our services did not exceed your expectations during your stay with us. Mahalo for your review as this gives us the opportunity to improve. We sincerely apologize for your experience and hope to have the chance to welcome you back for another stay with service that will exceed your expectations.

Warmest Aloha,
Kayla

What an amazing trip! The resort was so beautiful. The grounds were perfectly landscaped with tropical ponds, native trees and flowers, and fish, birds, and white and black swans. Restaurants were great. Love Tidepools (get an outdoor seat). The salt water pool was great for relaxing in a float all day. Wonderful vacation and perfect place to stay.

We have just finished our best ever trip to Kauai, primarily due to the uniformly outstanding experience we've had at the Grand Hyatt Resort and Spa in Poipu Beach. The rooms were large and very comfortable, while the gardens and pools (both fresh and salt water) were spectacularly beautiful. Finally, the Concierge staff went out of their way to ensure that we had access to all of the activities that were available to us, both on and off the premises. This resort would be equally appropriate for honeymooners of all ages, as well as families with young children. While this level of luxury comes with an appropriately elevated price tag, the resort's combination of beauty, location, service and available activities were well worth the investment. One suggestion would be to use the restaurant at the resort's Golf Club, a 5 minute walk from the resort's center. This restaurant offers well prepared Pan-Asian cuisine in a quiet setting.

Overall, among the best vacation experiences we've ever had!

The service was great. Pretty expensive but a great time. The slide is fun for adults & kids! The pool have seven different pools all connected. Adult pools, kids pools, jacuzzis, slide pools & lazy river pool. Tidepools resturant is the most amazing but you gotta make reservations one or two days ahead. We were there 4 days & could only eat there one night cuz it was sold out. We live on kauai & realize july 4th is a very busy weekend.

Me & my husband stayed here for 6 nights after a trip to San Francisco, Lake Tahoe & Yosemite. We'd had an amazing time but were ready to relax and chill out. Our dreams had come true! This is a beautiful hotel set in gorgeous surroundings. The pools & beach areas are lovely. The koi ponds are amazing, I've never seen so many koi, I could watch them for ages whilst enjoying a delicious breakfast. The staff were all so friendly, the room was wonderful. The only problem with this hotel is that it's hard to tear yourself away from it to explore Kauai which is a must as it is such a beautiful island. I just hope that one day we will return.
