This is a great place to watch the sunset. They have great pina colada's especially if you ask them made from Koloa rum (made on the island). They also have a great miso shrimp skewer and their daily fish specials are great. A little pricey but great atmosphere and views.

The fish taco was really good and we also tried the fish platter. The fish platter itself was also very good. We were lucky enough to get a seat next to the window except for some friendly local birds the view was excellent. I went to the deli below the restaurant and got my first shaved ice with macadamia nut ice cream dessert. That itself is worth the trip.

If you keep your expectations low, you will have a really great time. We visited Brenneke's twice during our recent trip. Service was always prompt and friendly, food hot but nothing special, and the views good if you get a window table.

The best part is just walking off the beach in a coverup and enjoying the atmosphere. One night we saw an amazing and huge rainbow right outside the window.

If you are in the area, go, soak up the fun.

Stopped here for a bite and we didn't have a table with views. Simple food, nothing special. No frills. Nothing to write home about. Not exactly anxious to go back.

Thanks for your review. WE appreciate your honest comments and business. Sorry our tables with a "view" were not available, we tend to keep front window tables available for our reservations, however you can see the ocean from every table in the restaurant. Try us again of your still in town. Aloha.

We got married 20 yrs ago at Poipu Point and have returned to Kauai for our 20th anniversary. Brennecke's was the site of our first night group dinner way back in 1997 so we had to come back in 2017.

Great ambience--maybe 50 yards from the beach--open air seating and very friendly service. Husband had a local brew and a burger which he said was cooked perfectly and tasted great. I had the fish & chips and the Sonoma-Cutrer Russian Ranch chardonnay. Best fish & chips I've had in a while: the fish is a little more done than what I have come to expect all around the world but I prefer it this way. No worries about underdone fish this way! Really good wine selection too.

We consider Brennecke's a must-do on Kauai.

Thanks for your review. Wow! 20 years later, and we are glad to be apart of your anniversary again. Congrats on the 20 years, and let's see you again sooner than 2037...hahaha. Aloha.
