We returned after several years absence and still found it to be a good choice for Poipu. Their mostly Italian menu is well prepared, the veal picatta is as good as we remember it from many visits over 35 years. Our salads were excellent and my fettuccine with seafood and puttanesca sauce was very good. All. Choices were high priced and dinner for two with drinks was over $125.
Service was prompt but our waiter was a little in our face and used the expression "I'll grab that for you.." Twice too often. The bus boy was busy grabbing our plates and utensils before we were done. Which left us without knives for the main course.
Having come here for over 30 years we are ready for some upgrading of the tired, drab decor. The
fish tank is a little murky . The Formica tabletops could do better with tablecloths, after all the prices here call for tablecloths rather than diner style tables. Overall the atmosphere is cozy, service is friendly and efficient and food is well prepared and presented. While the theme and menu are somewhat Italian, if you consider sashimi Italian, we saw no sign of Italians on the staff.
