Owner description: Water forced through a lava tube produces hissing and a plume of spray.

Perhaps we hit the Spouting Horn on an 'off' day, but there wasn't much to see aside from the occasional splash of water up through the hole in the old lava. That said, the little market nearby is great! There are about a half-dozen stalls with jewellery, gifts, toys...you name it. That made it well worth the visit.

The little trinket's and trash booths are pretty much on the low end of what we had seen all week else where. The gals seemed tired and rude (they were not Hawaiian) and we felt like we were at a garage sale. We asked if they took canadian bills and the gal smirked rudely and said "go to the bank yourself first".

The sprouting horn was interesting, the view was nice. If you are looking for nice lower end pearls, look no further. The little kiosks here provide a great variety and the best prices on the island.

When the waves roll in,the water spouting through the hole of a lava tube can be very impressive.Even the fact that crowds descend on this place does not take away from the experience! Go crazy with your camera to capture a spectacular shot! Caution! The winds carry the spray ,and you may get a bit wet.

This was an interesting "attraction". Water is pushed out from the rocks by natural phenomena and shoots it into the air. It was cool for the first couple times then I thought, "OK, that's it. Let's go." If you're in the area check it out but don't plan on being there for very long at all and don't plan your day around it. Surprisingly my wife bought an really cool looking star fish ring from one of the vendors there and she get compliments on it EVERY time she wears it. It might be worth the trip to Spouting Horn to buy some cool jewelry.
