Owner description: Outfitters Kauai has been making vacations awesome since 1988! Offering you a wide range of activities, including HAWAII’S LONGEST ZIPLINE; Exciting Ocean and River Kayak Tours; Waimea Canyon Downhill Biking Tours; SUP Tours; along with hiking and swimming options for many of our guided adventures. Zipline Tours: On May 1, 2017, Outfitters Kauai launched their newest additions... the 3/4 mile long FlyLine Kauai Zipline, and the Kipu Ranch Visitor Welcome Center. The result is improved and reconfigured Zipline Tour packages, and a new, convenient check-in location. Each zipline tour is unique as our lines vary by size, skill-level, and terrain. Fly with us over lush valleys, tumbling waterfalls and forest canopies — landscapes made famous by movies like Jurassic Park, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Indiana Jones. Kayak Tours: If you want to explore the secret beaches and hidden waterfalls of Kauai, Hawaii, look no further than our kayak tours. Outfitters Kauai offers both ocean and river kayaking. Each tour is unique and combines kayaking with additional activities like hiking, snorkeling, swimming, and wildlife viewing. See the famed Na Pali Cliffs, or take a Poipu Whale Watch tour (seasonal). Paddle-Boarding Tours: We invite you to take a standup paddle along a tranquil jungle stream, ringed by the majestic Hau’pu Mountains. The adventure starts with a quick SUP lesson, then you’ll be fitted with a paddle and board that is just the right fit. Outfitters Kauai provides paddlers with top-quality equipment, so you can paddle with ease and get the most out of your adventure. Downhill Bike Tours: Our bike tour takes you alongside what is called “The Grand Canyon of the Pacific” at 3,600 feet on the west side of Kauai. As you wind your way down this geological wonder, you will enjoy panoramic views of crested buttes, amazing waterfalls, rugged crags and deep valley gorges. From the main lookout point, there are dramatic views of Kauai’s lush interior and dazzling ocean coast. Think of this as a nature walk on two wheels, complete with refreshments and information about the culture, history and folklore of Kauai.

Zip lining with outfitters is a "must" if you're in the area. The 4 hour adventure took us out to privately-owned land that included some of the best scenery in Kauai. Alex and Cory knew their stuff and were straight forward AND fun! They also shared some of the best local grub - try the fish tacos at Da Crack (next to Outfitters) and the food cart that you pass on the way back from zip lining (you'll pass it on the way to Lihue) for good pulled pork and ribs.

“SUP Tour with Hike”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

We had a great time with Harold, our guide on this SUP/Hiking/Swimming Hole Tour. If you've never done SUP before I haighly recommend learning on a quiet river like on this tour. I can be somewhat of a klutz but I was able to stand up on the second try and did not fall in the river at all. The tour starts with a 7:30 checkin and then some instruction on the land before putting in to the Huleiwa River near Nawiliwili Harbor in Lihue. It was very windy, so you start out kneeling on the board while paddling. The tour goes up river but with the wind and after a short time I was confident enough to stand up. It was a least an hour of paddling and Harold talked story the whole way. Then we got off the boards and headed on a hike through the jungle. I highly recommend bug spray as the mosquitos seemed to think we were tasty. My husband had the 5-toed shoes which he said worked great but my cheap water shoes weren't very comfortable so I recommend sport sandals or have thick treaded water shoes as there were a lot of big thick tree roots and rocks on the trail. We got to stand on the field from the scene in Jurassic Park where the big group of dinosaurs were running from the T-rex only this day there were just a few cows grazing. There was also a porta potty, other tours stop there too. Then he took us to a swimming hole where you have to either jump in from a platform or hold a t-bar on a short zip-line and let go. There is a ladder to get out back to the platform where we had the lunch packed in our pack with a chiller. Though we didn't get the turkey wraps we had ordered when booking on-line, the veggie wraps were quite tasty as was the bowl of pasta salad and cookie. We stuck to drinking water & saved the cans of juice for Mai Tais another night. ;) We hiked back out the same way (about an hour each way) back to the river's edge and in about 5 minutes a boat came and took us back to the harbor about 1:30ish. Kauai is very laid back and this was a great laid back tour to help you get into "island mode." Ask fo Harold, he loves what he does.

“hidden valley kayaking”
Reviewed March 13, 2013

Wow what a great day we had with Trevor along the Hulula River on this well worth tour. Paddled up the this calm easy river for 2.5 miles then hiked for a short while and ate the provided lunch at the falls.

Our guide Trevor gave us facts and legends along the way our entire trip and a good time had by all. We had 4 amazing well behaved kids that were included in all the activites, including a refreshing rope swing into a tidal pool.

Well worth you time!

“Fun!”
Reviewed March 12, 2013

We did two of their tours. We did the Waimea Canyon downhill bike tour and the Wailua waterfall kayak and hike. Both were great fun, and other repeat customers told us great things about the zipline tour.
Andy drove us up in the van and followed us down the canyon blocking traffic for us. He was super-funny, informative, and gave awesome recommendations! The two guides that day narrated the drive up, and had us stop along the road on the way down to show interesting bits. Elvis took us kayaking and hiking, and he knew the forest and river really well. He showed us much that we would have missed, kept everyone engaged, and knew everyone's name and hometown after the first introduction. He was really impressive!
