Owner description: Outfitters Kauai has been making vacations awesome since 1988! Offering you a wide range of activities, including HAWAII’S LONGEST ZIPLINE; Exciting Ocean and River Kayak Tours; Waimea Canyon Downhill Biking Tours; SUP Tours; along with hiking and swimming options for many of our guided adventures. Zipline Tours: On May 1, 2017, Outfitters Kauai launched their newest additions... the 3/4 mile long FlyLine Kauai Zipline, and the Kipu Ranch Visitor Welcome Center. The result is improved and reconfigured Zipline Tour packages, and a new, convenient check-in location. Each zipline tour is unique as our lines vary by size, skill-level, and terrain. Fly with us over lush valleys, tumbling waterfalls and forest canopies — landscapes made famous by movies like Jurassic Park, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Indiana Jones. Kayak Tours: If you want to explore the secret beaches and hidden waterfalls of Kauai, Hawaii, look no further than our kayak tours. Outfitters Kauai offers both ocean and river kayaking. Each tour is unique and combines kayaking with additional activities like hiking, snorkeling, swimming, and wildlife viewing. See the famed Na Pali Cliffs, or take a Poipu Whale Watch tour (seasonal). Paddle-Boarding Tours: We invite you to take a standup paddle along a tranquil jungle stream, ringed by the majestic Hau’pu Mountains. The adventure starts with a quick SUP lesson, then you’ll be fitted with a paddle and board that is just the right fit. Outfitters Kauai provides paddlers with top-quality equipment, so you can paddle with ease and get the most out of your adventure. Downhill Bike Tours: Our bike tour takes you alongside what is called “The Grand Canyon of the Pacific” at 3,600 feet on the west side of Kauai. As you wind your way down this geological wonder, you will enjoy panoramic views of crested buttes, amazing waterfalls, rugged crags and deep valley gorges. From the main lookout point, there are dramatic views of Kauai’s lush interior and dazzling ocean coast. Think of this as a nature walk on two wheels, complete with refreshments and information about the culture, history and folklore of Kauai.

“Biking downhill from Waimea Canyon”
Reviewed December 13, 2012

My wife Nancy and I had an informative and awesome time with the Outfitters Kauai last weekend biking down from Waimea Canyon. Our guides Harold and Nick made the whole trip interesting, safe and fun. They had great local knowledege that covered a wide range of topics that really made our adventure enjoyable. They gave us a dinner recommendation to the "Plantation Garden" that had some of the best seafood I've ever had and i use to commercial fish. If your looking for some fun biking and a great time this is it. The "Ultimate Kauai Guidebook" seem to think it was to short which we disagree with-we were out having fun starting at 2:30 and for about 4 hours we were entertained and it got our hearts pumping a bit.

“Try the Safari Trip for a day of fun!”
Reviewed December 13, 2012

We wanted a little adventure combined with sightseeing so we booked the all-day Safari Trip. We left the Outfitters Kaiua store in Poipu early in the morning and were transported to the harbor area to get started. We joined about another dozen people and started with a 2-1/2 mile kayak paddle up the river. The river is calm and the most danger you are in is running into the mangrove trees that line the bank-however, life vests are available for the younger, or less confident water adults. Once we arrived at the takeout point, it was a hike through a rain forest to a rope swing over a swimming hole where about half the group tried it while others watched. Then another short hike with a tractor ride to the start of ziplining (first, a break for lunch). For those of us that have a bit of a height phobia, it is a leap of faith on the first round, but the staff is very safety conscious, and you feel secure and safe in the equipment. You start with the shorter in length of the two ziplines-a solo endeavor- and then moved to a much longer, side-by-side set. Then a short hike down to the third "zipline" over the "Blue Pool"-both are in quotes because the pool wasn't blue, but murky (although they assured us it was just due to recent rain), and the zipline is more of an upscale rope swing over the pond so you can drop in and then swim to the platform. Then a hike back to the river and a motorized boat ride back to the starting point at the harbor. A couple things to know before you book or go-it's a long day of fairly physical activity. it wasn't too hot or humid the day we went, but for those who want a more passive trip, this is probably not for you. Also, you have the choice of wearing water shoes, hiking sandals (Teva or Keen), or good athletic shoes that can get wet-choose something sturdy and that cover the toes-the hiking trails can be slippery and there are exposed tree roots everywhere to trip over or stub your toe. Wear your swimsuit and then choose quick-drying shirt/shorts - not cotton- because you will need to pull these over wet suits. Might also throw a towel in the backpack with the other items they recommend your bring. All in all, we would do it again-worth the price, good staff and a experience you can't duplicate on your own.

“Insightful kayak tour of the Wailua River!”
Reviewed December 4, 2012

This kayak and hiking tour up the Wailua River is perfect for those travelers who want to get more of their Kauai stay. Our guide Adam from Outfitters Kauai definitely delivered on our tour yesterday by providing our small group of kayakers (6 people) a thoroughly enjoyable and interesting commentary of the regional flora, fawna and history of the region all along our slow (and very safe) kayak trip up the river and short hike up to the 'Secret Falls'. Although the falls weren't actually running on our tour (likely due to some local intrigue), Adam made up for it with funny tales of local lore. While not necessarily the cheaper option on the river, Outfitters Kauai makes up for it with a great guided experience. Highly recommended.

“My families funnest day in Kauaui”
Reviewed December 2, 2012

My family absolutely loved this day. The kayaking was great, enjoyable with great views but not long enough to wear you out. The hike is more of a walk through the woods but the rope swing into the fountain of youth is fun. My 7 and 9 year old had an absolute blast on the ziplines. The 7 year old was a little scared at first on the zipline but they were very patient with him and everyone in the group was encouraging. My 5 year old couldn't do the big zipline but there was one for him at the end into lava tube that was a blast.

“The Safari”
Reviewed November 30, 2012

If you are going to do one excursion on the island I highly recommend this one. I liked it so much I did it twice. I even convinced 3 other people to go with me the second time and they loved it too. This excursion combines the best of several worlds. You get to do a 2 and a half mile kayak on the Nawiliwili river. Experienced or not, it is enjoyable. They bundle everyone up part way through to tell stories and folklore. You get to hike through the forest, do 2 ziplines, one of which has tandem 1800 foot lines with the ability to go upside down. You take a tractor ride, and they provide lunch, drinks and snacks for the day. There are two different ponds/pools that you stop at for a rope swing and a zipline into the water. I wore my hiking shoes and it was perfect. It's also fun being on location where they shot scenes from Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones and Pirates of the Caribbean. The guides were all fantastic, friendly and very helpful. Love, Love, LOVE!!
