My wife and I were staying at the Grand Hyatt and had our Valentine's Day dinner at Tidepools. It's such a nice, romantic location with good food.

My wife had the Kula Baby Greens salad and I had the Baby Romaine Salad. Both were quite good. I had the Volcano Spiced Opah, which had very good spices (somewhat cajun-like) on the exterior of the fish. My wife had a Valentine's Day special a small filet with lobster. The filet was cooked perfectly and was as good as we get in the midwest.

The service was average and the atmosphere was wonderful as always. The restaurant was close to capacity but it never felt crowded or rushed. It made for a wonderful romantic evening. Prices are expensive, but not above other resorts and the quality has always been excellent.

True - no ocean views here, but the landscaping at Tidepools makes for interesting conversation and enjoyable atmosphere. Individual seating areas located on a deck situated over pools, surrounded by scenery and waterfalls. Quiet and detached from the Hyatt hotel above. Just a very cool setting. Couldn't have been more pleased with our amazing drinks and delicious food. Go mad and order that molten chocolate cake - but share it! Rich and luscious!

After dinner, have a walk around the Hyatt's maze of pools, which are beautifully lit at night.

The food was delicious, drinks good and a gorgeous setting. Highly recommend! Make sure to make reservations as this place can get very busy.

We loved the romantic lighting, the open air vibe and the views of the koi ponds. The atmosphere at this restaurant is terrific. My husband really enjoyed the macadamia nut encrusted fish that he ate that night. I had a vegetarian option with some pretty soggy soba noodles! Not the best food but a great setting.
