Food was good and fresh but not particularly noteworthy. The reason to go here is for an OK to good lunch with a million dollar view. Priced reasonably. Friendly service.

We had a reservation for dinner on Jan 31, 2014, at sunset. The booth and view was beautiful, but we had to wait about an hour for our dinner, and no one asked if we wanted an appetizer, another drink, or brought us bread until we asked for it. Part of our very expensive dinner was cold by the time it arrived, so very disappointing.

However, when the mgr came by and asked us how we liked everything, we told him the service was extremely slow and so he comp'd one dinner and brought us a free drink and dessert, so that was nice.

This spot on Kauai's oceanfront is truly memorable. The service was friendly and helpful and the food was great - especially the kalamari - the best ever. Portions were generous and tasty.

Make sure you get a table at the front - the view is the factor that made this visit as special as it was.

Reservation process is problematic. We made an online reservation in August and received a confirming email. I called two weeks before to confirm and they had no record. After a brief back and forth of "no room at the inn" we were accommodated albeit at 5:30, earlier than our desire. Food was very good, crab cakes perhaps the best west of the Mississippi. Fish cooked to perfection and very flavorful. Service was attentive and spot on If you go ask for Tim. W e normally don't eat dessert but we tried the carrot cake. The first 2/3 was very good but it appears the cakes were cooked a little too long as the last of the cake was dry..We will definitely return. Whether Tim is working may determine the timing.

Food was OK if a bit overpriced. During our lunch experience a crew was in the middle of setting up for a wedding and they CONTINUALLY went back and forth through our dining area with tables, chairs and other furniture. It was annoying to say the least and did nothing for the ambiance of the experience. Wait staff was indifferent to our complaints about giving excuses that people did not show up in the morning to set up and thus it had to be done now. On a cool day, no warm ups were offered on coffee or tea and no one checked to see how we were doing or if we needed anything. Had to ask for salt and pepper. At conclusion one bill was proffered after we had requested separate checks and when it was modified to our original request one item was placed on the wrong bill. Definitely not the best experience or the "most romantic restaurant in the world".
