“Check out the Speicals”

Since we were staying at the Sheraton we ate here for breakfast & dinner many times. The options for breakfast were limited & pricey, but the food was good. We had the Prime Rib special one night which was excellent. Taco Tuesdays was great too. Each time we ate here our service was fantastic. The view from Rum Fire is great all day long.

“A Little Rough Around the Edges, But Great Food”
Reviewed March 29, 2013

First the good news...We received excellent service from Chloe, who is one of the most personable, funny, and intelligent restaurant staff we've encountered. She has the sprit to serve. When asked for her opinion on the selection of cocktails that RumFire offers, she not only had solid recommendations, but let us know why she was recommending those drinks, and provided details above and beyond what was on the menu as to what we might experience when tasting the drinks. The service she provided was cheerful, prompt, and attentive.

More good news...The food was outstanding. We both had their Prime Rib Special (available on Thursdays) which came with a salad, excellent mashed potatoes, asparagus, a 16 ounce prime rib, and a flour-free chocolate torte with ice cream. The rib was seasoned perfectly, cooked perfectly, and was tender enough to cut with a fork. It doesn't get better than that. We also opted to share the French Onion Soup, which had a unique presentation and was flavorful without being salty.

And...The view is spectacular.

Now the other side...Their website is apparently going through "changes" and as of this writing it is not possible to book a reservation for RumFire through it. We ended up booking through Opentable.com. It's our anniversary, and we indicated so on the reservation. When we arrived at the restaurant the greeter was not available, and we had to wait about 5 minutes for her return. She did not acknowledge that it was our anniversary and guided us to a table in the back of the completely empty restaurant. We asked for a table near the windows to see the sunset, and she said she didn't think it would be possible, but went off to check the seating. She did seat us at a nice table with a view. At the time we left there were still quite a few tables near the window open. Another couple had the same experience with seating that we did.

We discussed the good and the bad of our visit with Ivan, the restaurant manager, who appeared receptive to our comments and mentioned that the restaurant's webpage and reservation system are being replaced. Hopefully that will happen soon since some of the food and drink offerings listed on the website, as will as their hours of operation, are incorrect.

If you are looking for excellent prime rib, RumFire is a good choice. Once you get past the hostess desk, you'll probably have a good experience, especially if Chloe is your server.

“Yes, it was that good!”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

Unbelievable meals, great service and spectacular views. WOW!
We went there three times during our recent trip, it was that good. Sit at the Bar and enjoy a cocktail before Dinner, the bartenders are great and atmosphere special.
Start your meal off with an order of any of their flat-breads for an appetizer (you won't be disappointed). Try the mouth-watering Ribs as well.
Every entree we had was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious.
Very nice wines and reasonably priced. Desserts are to die for.
The staff is so friendly.
Honestly, the best food on the Island. You gotta go!
