Overall we were very pleased with our stay in Kahala 422. This was our second trip to Kauai, and also our second time renting with Suite Paradise. On both trips we opted to let them choose the unit for us, and I will say that we were happier with the unit they gave us on our first trip to Kauai.

On this trip, the condo was not clean as on our first visit, the toilet wouldn't flush and the sinks drained very slowly and the tub wouldn't drain. We had to lift up on the float on the toilet the first day, and then after that it worked on its own. Suite Paradise sent maintenance to work on the tub on the first day and after that it worked fine; however, there was quite a mess in the tub after the plumber left that we had to clean up.

After the initial disappointment of the first day we were able to settle in and enjoy all the positive aspects of the condo. It had a nicely remodeled kitchen with everything a cook could need, the living and dining areas were nicely furnished/decorated, and the lanai opened up to a beautifully landscaped courtyard. It was a short walk to Brenneke's Beach and Poipu Beach Park, and the condo was equipped with a handy little cooler, beach mat, beach umbrella, boogie board and snorkel board that we really enjoyed using. There was only one television in the living room, and we noticed the traffic noise from Poipu Road in the evenings (we usually went to bed pretty early though).

If we go to Kauai again, I think we would rent with Suite Paradise again but I think we would pay a little more to pick our own unit to get one that is further from the road and also closer to the beach.

Room Tip: If you are staying in the Kahala, get a unit as far away from Poipu Road as you can

We took advantage of the "quiet" season and lower rates and enjoyed two weeks at Poipu Kai Resort, Kahala property in early November. Suite Paradise are the rental agents for many of these suites, and they do a fine job. The condo was very clean and was what we had asked for with loads of space. They gave us a nicely chilled bottle of wine to enjoy on our arrival. The gardens at Poipu Kai are beautifully maintained and the local beaches are varied and good. There are many places to explore on Kauai but you do need to rent a car as the buses are not frequent. Eating out is very pricy, we found, so we made good use of the farmers' markets and barbeques onsite. Kauai gets more rain than the other islands, but we found plenty to do when the day was cool and damp. Happy Hour at "Joe's on the Green" (Kiahuna Golf Course) was a highlight as they have Hawaiian music Sunday through Thursday 5-7 pm and drink specials from 5-6 pm. Very happy and restful holiday for a tired couple ...

Room Tip: If you are noise-sensitive, you may ask for a condo that isn't near the restaurant which got qui...

This is the third time we have stayed at Suite Paradise in Poipu Kai in the fall. The condo was beautiful as usual and the location gave us easy access to two of the pools. We recommend this place to anyone that wants to be close to the ocean and wants good snorkeling. The location is near shops and is easy to reach from various parts of the island. Also great value if you intend to rent a car.

Poipu Kai is on the south shore, 30 minutes from the airport, which after driving around parts of Kauai, I think is a great location. It is close to restaurants, and within driving distance of everything else. The grounds are clean and well kept with pools & several tennis courts. Although we didn’t participate this time the water aerobics look like fun and there are impromptu yoga classes as well.

The day we were going to check out, I requested a late check and the reception staff kindly offered me a noon checkout at no charge. They also printed our boarding passes. Poipu Kai is a great location and Suite Paradise is wonderful.

We are planning another trip but hope to stay more than a week next time. What better recommendation can there be?

We booked through Suite Paradise and were in the first unit of condos above Brennecke's Beach. Lovely pool and BBQ next door, fantastic view of the grounds and beach. We have been to Hawaii many times over the years, and this was one of the best experiences so far. A++++

Our travel agent booked us in to this resort based on her experience in staying at this property. This was our first visit to Kauai as our usual destination is Kihei, Maui. The booking was made through Suite-Paradise. Our booking was for a deluxe ocean view one bedroom/bath unit and "run of the house rate", i.e. unit assigned at check-in. The check-in process was straight forward with a welcome mai tai. We were assigned Manulaoha 305. When we walked into the unit we were quite surprised to see that we were assigned a two bedroom, two and half bath, two level unit with two lanais. The unit was quite warm which I anticipated due to it being locked up or not being used recently. Our timing for weather was unfortunate as the first three days we were under a flash flood alert. We soon discovered that the following services were not functioning properly, i.e. telephone, cabled internet, and cable television. I called maintenance and they were around the next day to repair even though the telephone service continued to be intermittent our entire stay. The third day we encountered an ant infestation on the kitchen counter areas and bedroom night stand. Maintenance was called once again and came to our rescue with chemical warfare. I must say the unit was nicely furnished on all levels. Now for the most disappointing features, i.e. the daytime/ afternoon/early evening temperatures in the unit were around 90F with the evening nighttime temperatures dropping to 82F. With three ceiling fans and two portable fans, and windows open we could not reduce the temperature to a comfortable level. The sun shines on the unit all day and the vertical blinds did little to block the sun or keep the heat out. During our stay the humidity in Kauai was very high. The outside day time temperature reached 84F but was 90F inside. In addition, this unit borders on to the local neighborhood which just so happens to have a noisy neighbor directly below. During our stay there was fence construction and tree removal (chainsaw) taking place throughout the day along with a dog barking most days and seemed to be in distress. Due to the heat and noise we decided to relocate for a few days while maintaining the condo. I raised our concerns to the front desk person and informed them we would have to relocate for a few days. I asked if they were concerned and the person I spoke to said she was not. Shortly after my reservation was made I contacted Suite Paradise and asked if they had any air conditioned units and was told that such was not available or necessary as the Trade winds cool down the units, I wouldn't call temps. of 80 to 90F cool. To top things off, I later found out there are units with air conditioning so was somewhat misinformed. The grounds at Poipu Kai resort were well maintained. About a three to four hundred meter walk to the beach depending on which unit. The pools were well maintained. In conclusion, this was our personal experience at the date and time that we were staying in the unit. Better sunblock curtains would have helped. The weather conditions including lack of wind and high humidity could have influenced the indoor temperatures.

Room Tip: Avoid a corner south facing unit. Such gives the best view but also comes full day sun/heat. If yo...

My husband and I stayed in the Kahala units at the Poipu Kai this November. The units are very comfortable, clean and well appointed. Can't beat the location in Poipu. The prices through Suite Paradise can't be beaten.
We had an unfortunate issue of domestic violence in the condo above us, shortly after we had arrived. It was upsetting to us and we decided we did not want stay in that particular unit. Suite Paradise moved us into another unit the next morning ( 213), even better than the one we were in. No charges for cleaning, no questions asked ( security had been involved so they knew the situation). The front desk staff is cheerful and helpful, very nice to deal with. This is a well managed company and I would never book a condo privately, when I can deal with such a professional group.
We have already booked through Suite Pardise for next Christmas!

10th trip to Hawaii and this was our first time in a condo. We loved it!! Condo was spacious with two lanais and an updated kitchen. Less than 5 minutes walk to great boogie boarding at Brennekes and awesome snorkeling at Poipu Beach park. We rented through Suite Paradise and they were so easy to deal with...professional, friendly, and always quick to respond. We are already planning a return trip for next year!!!!
