“Loved the villa...not the view”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

Ashley at check in was very nice. The condo was very nice. We had a 3 bedroom. It was new, lots of space, great kitchen. Master bath was very nice. Be aware this is not on the beach, which we knew. The pool was nice though. Grounds are pretty. There was plenty of room for our family of 5. Cost less than it would have to book 2 hotel rooms for us. My complaint was our view. We booked an ocean view. ( not partial or obstructed ) As you can see from my pictures, not what I was expecting. There is an awesome lanai that I was looking forward to being out on. If I had what I would have looked at was my construction view. Until construction is done, avoid building 9. I am not sure where the picture of the "ocean view" on the website was taken. I didn't see anything that looked like that. I called to complain. The manager could have moved us to a non ocean view condo, but we would have had to pack up our luggage and check out that morning and then wait til new check in time that afternoon after housekeeping had time to prepare the other room. He did lower the rate a little for us. Loved the condo...you would be better off with a mountain or pool view. Be aware that a mountain view has some construction on as well.

We rented a 3 bedroom 3 bath condo for 2 families.

Pros: Economical lodging for 2 families
Great service at the front desk and concierge. Ashley is amazing
Beautiful condos..all top end appliances/granite/furniture/bedding
Great rental place at the pool to get boogie boards/ice chests/beach chairs/umbrellas to keep for the entire week.
Great place to base out of as most of the activities are in or around Poipu.

Cons: The view is not good..none of the condo buildings have a view to speak of. Building 9 is the worst. Make sure to get a room on the 4th floor of any of the other buildings.
Spa was not complete even though they had said it would be...this was a big disappointment
They are going to build more condos for the future, so there is a lot of construction going on. We did know about this, but it was still noisy at times.
Maid service was spotty...they did not always clean very well. Also had issues with towels...we would leave 6 on the floor as instructed and get back 4 towels.
No beach...you have to walk or drive to a beach..there is nothing at the resort..closest beach is at the Sheraton.
Pool area is fine, however, the pictures on the website make it look a lot more grand than it actually is.

Overall I would say this was a good place to base out of...not a place that you are going to hang out all day, but like I said it is close to everything that you want to do on Kauai and much more economical than a large resort.

Room Tip: choose any building except for building 9...also ask for a 4th floor (top floor)

The resort was beautiful, lush, and well maintained. My family and I stayed in a three-bedroom corner suite on the ground floor. I have a one year daughter, so it was nice to be able to walk out our room. The island has lots of feral chickens and roosters, which were right out the door. Although the roosters are noisy all night, it wasn't too disturbing, and my daughter was fascinated by the chickens and roosters running around outside our door. The suite was brand new and had an amazing kitchen. The outdoor lanai wrapped around and had floor to ceiling sliding glass doors. We spent a lot of time with the doors open and hanging on the lanai. The lanai had tons of furniture to lounge on. Although the property wasn't directly on the beach, it was probably a 10 minute walk to get the public beach, and there was a short little trail from the hotel. We were also about a 5 minute walk from the Kukui'ula Shopping Center, and 10 minute walk from Poipu Shopping Center, so property was accessible to amenities. The property also had two nice pools, bbq grills, large grassy area with a putting green and volleyball. My only wish is that they had more servers walking around the pool because I probably would have drank more. This was a great place for families.

If you are traveling with an infant like I was, Baby Beach is a five minute drive or probably 15-20 minute walk and was perfect for really young children.
