The beach is beautiful but doesn't seem like you can swim in the ocean there but the views are beautiful

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Poipu so we spent a lot of time on shipwreck beach. There are a lot of entertaining hermit crabs to watch! Kind of rocky so it's not really ideal for swimming.

Beach next to the Grand Hyatt Kauai. Another beautiful beach! Just a five minute walk from the Regency Garden Villas.

Reasonably nice beach, but no competition to the nicer beaches in Hawaii. Waves are pretty high generally. Very relaxing to watch them break on the sand and scattered volcanic rock, but not somewhere to go swimming--hence, the Hyatt which fronts on it has multiple pools of various sizes and restriction for its guests. Agree with other posts that it is an attractive walk along the beach; the area to the west of the Hyatt had waves pounding on volcanic rock when we were there--very picturesque.

This beach in front of the Hyatt Hotel is beautiful to look at and to walk on. However, the wave action is too high for all but top swimmers and surf boarders. The cliff on the left of the beach (looking at the ocean) is easy to climb, and gives beautiful views.
