Description: In a casual yet elegant setting of an Old Hawaii Plantation, Chef-Owner Peter Merriman serves his unique style of Hawaii Regional Cuisine in Kauai's Poipu. A pioneer in the "Farm to Table" concept, Peter serves only the freshest products, at least 90% of which are locally grown or caught, using only sustainable methods. His international menu items are prepared in a manner that highlights the natural flavors of these fresh and local foods. Located in Poipu, we feature both mauka (mountain) and makai (ocean) views as well as sunset views over the Kukui'ula resort. We offer a premium bar upstairs, a downstairs cafe for casual dining, and over 1,000 bottles of wine in our cellar. Our facilities can host private parties and meetings. Our aloha-friendly staff, with a food and beverage knowledge second to none, will ensure that you have an extraordinary dining experience.

“Good but overpriced”
Reviewed May 13, 2014

This restaurant was highly recommended by our concierge. The scenery was fantastic and overlooked the ocean. The food was good but for the price, it was overrated. I had the Five Spice Pan Roasted Jidori Chicken which sat on ravioli was was under cooked. The sauce the chicken was in was just average. Our bill came to $340 for 4 persons. I would recommend Kaui Pasta instead.

“Great experience”

A little spendy, but well worth it. The food was excellent. The service was outstanding. If the glass was empty they were there to refill it. Had the Caesar salad with fried green tomatoes, sooo good. I had the ahi, cooked to perfection.

“Better than reviews”
Reviewed May 8, 2014

Merriman's hosted a few tables of 12 during a convention I attended in March. Prior to dining at Merrimans, I scraped a few reviews on tripadvisor. I found the food, service, and atmosphere excellent. There was a limited menu for our group which may have allowed for a superior service level, but the large crowd may also have stressed the staff. Wait staff and wait times were excellent, along with the meal. Moonfish was delicious. Many locals recommend Merrimans when asked

“Excellent food.”

Great sunset view while dining on some of the freshest caught seafood. All f2f ish is caught that morning by their own fishermen and has to be to the restaurant by 2pm for preparation that evening. Try the macadamia encrusted monchong. A local fish that you can't get anywhere else. It wss outstanding was the sword fish. Highly recommended restaurant in my opinion.

“Fancy dinner that was delicious! B”
Reviewed May 5, 2014 via mobile

We went out on our last night in Kauai to have a fancier dinner. The food here was top notch.
Ashley was our server and she was amazing. Knowledgable about the menu, attentive, and didn't make us feel bad for coming in right before close.
I had the vegetarian option which was one of the best meals I have had on the island. Friends ordered lamb and filet both of which received raving reviews from both of them.
I would highly recommend if you want something a little more upscale.
