“fast access to a beach”
Reviewed March 19, 2008

we visited poipu everyday we were there, it was a 3 min drive fro mthe hotel, great snorkeling, calm waters, great for new swimmers and families, we didnt see any seals but we saw great waves to the right, the rocks cut off all beach movement. we had lunch at the resturant next to the beach each day good appetizers n drinks

“Poipu Beach Park Area”
Reviewed July 9, 2007

June 14 We stayed at Kiahuna Plantation Resort. The resort is quite large and very nice. If you are looking for a pool forget it. Its across the road and down aways . Nice restaurants and shopping in the Poipu Shopping Village across the road. There was a Puka Dog stand there as well as some upscale restaurants like Keikos, which was very good. The Poipu beach park is a really fun beach to be at, nice area for little bitty kids and bathrooms and showers to get the sand off. Kiahuna beach was the most perfect beach we found, good snorkeling, nice waves for a boogie board and shallow areas for little ones. NaPali coast tour was really fun, left from the North Shore on a small catamarran, snorkeled and went into some of the caves as the boat was small enough to do it. NaPali Tours was the name of the company we used, small boat but great fun. Parking is horrible at most sightseeing places. Patience is important.

“glorious area of kauai”
Reviewed May 8, 2004

The park itself it nothing fancy, but it is within walking distance of breathtaking black cliffs with the Pacific crashing in, great surfing beaches with instruction for all ages, down to earth food yet fabulous food (Bennecke's), an ocean full of Pacific sea turtles and possibility of a view of a lazy endangered Monk Seal on the beach. Wow. We stayed at the Hyatt right down the road and walked here.
