“a nice meal - drinks expensive”
Reviewed September 7, 2013

We went to this restaurant on our last night on the island and at the resort as a special treat. We booked ahead but were a little dissapointed with a seat in the back of the restaurant. Tip - if a special occasion definitely ask for a window seat as you have a nicer view. The service was good, very attentive. The choices on the menu were rather limited but we both had a nice meal - rack of lamb and lobster with ravioli. We asked for and were provided a side of nice green vegetables - this is something not generally provided for or with meals in the USA. our desert of ginger creme broulee was out of this world. There was one meal on the menu which was Wagyu Beef - which was hideously expensive. We were told coming from OZ that things are expensive over here however despite dining out regularly here in Oz i have rarely stumbled across a $69 main course or single glasses of wine for $14 plus.
it was a nice meal to end the holiday.

“Fantastic”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

Our meal was excellent. We had the mahi mahi and lobster ravioli, and both were expertly prepared. Cocktails were also delicious. Service was attentive, but not intrusive. Overall, a lovely and delicious meal!

“Likely the best dining on Kauai”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

We visited Kauai to celebrate our babymoon and decided on Red Salt as our last meal on the island. We had been to several other restaurants during our stay and were unimpressed to say the least. We are SO thankful we saved the best for last. The service is top notch- what you'd expect from a fine dining establishment. They very obviously take pride in what they do. The food was outstanding. They paid attention to every detail. It was definitely the dining highlight of our trip.

“Great choice for the South Shore”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

We went for our 3rd time last night. As with the first two times, the food, service and ambience were superb. There were 4 in our party. 3 had the seared Ono with King Crab. The other had the Ahi entrée wrapped in bacon. The food is pricey. But, you get what you pay for. You'll pay about the same amount at the Beach House (just okay, service is mediocre). You will get a much better view from the Beach House. Rum Fire needs to improve their customer service before we make our return there. I would put this on the same level as Tide Pools and Donderos at the Hyatt - both of which are solid choices. Red Salt is inside dinning but has an inviting ambience with modern décor. We will return to Red Salt but I'd like to see them trim their prices a bit. Or, maybe they could offer a kama'aina discount. Our bill was $194. 3 entrees, 2 appetizers, 2 alcoholic drinks, one soft drink, no coffee or desserts. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant.

“TWO Thumbs up!!”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

Overall great dinner! Mushroom soup...to die for, rack of lamb...outstanding! Your cocktail will come in 3 glasses. Booze, mixer and ice. Therefore, you can pour your drink how you want it! Close to the Hyatt!
