This is a well done nicely decorated Asian fusion restaurant. We had an ahi appetizer in a fried wonton(4) that was very good. The Tom Yum soup was okay and way too spicy. In addition. It had thin rice noodles that were challenging to pick up. The sizzling pork was outstanding with a fresh flavorful brown sauce I would highly recommend. The lobster and shrimp was also outstanding.you should not be disappointed.

We've been in Kauai for 10 days now, tried lots of local fare in Princeville and Poipu. Since we have an ocean front condo in Poipu, we've leaned towards takeout.
Yum Cha was a home run. Not sure how best to describe it. Szechuan beef with a kick (Chinese?), tempura shrimp (Japanese?), Pad Thai ( well, you know...). I guess Asian Fusion.
What really struck me was the aromas wafting out of the place as soon as I drove up and parked outside. The food definitely matched the amazing smells. Isn't that what taste is all about?
As I sat at the bar and waited for our order, every single dish that came out of the kitchen looked and smelled amazing. What was that??? Oooooh, what was that???
Yum Cha is at the Poipu Bay golf course. Not what you would expect from a golf course, but better. The dining room is lovely, would gladly have eaten there if our ocean front lanai didn't beckon so...
I should point out that I also played the course twice. Everyone at Poipu Bay, from the pro shop to the starter, to the wait staff to the bartender, are first class, customer friendly, team oriented professionals.
It's a place I can't wait to return to, and Yum Cha will surely be be on the dinner rota next visit to Kauai.

Beware- the soup is HOT-- spicy and temperature wise. Very delicious and a must try IF you enjoy hot food. The spring rolls were nothing out of the ordinary- greasy and little taste. The duck bao was also very good. The waitstaff was attentive and accommodating, and did their best to get us out in time to make our flight home.

We were disappointed in the choices and quality of the food. We expected dim sum, but there was none. The cuisine was too similar to other restaurants nearby

Our group of 5 all enjoyed the food and atmosphere at Yum Cha.
It is in a golf club house but feels like a separate restaurant .
Spacious , airy room with lots of windows and beautiful Asian decor.
We had the Korean crab pancake as an appetizer, it's very good.
For entrees we had Korean sizzling pork, Szechwan beef, Singapore noodles and salmon fried
Rice. We could not decided which was the best ( I voted for theb pork)
Good service too.
