What a wonderful relaxing hotel! Staff was awesome and our room was clean and tidy every time we came back at the end of the day. Starbucks coffee for coffee was a little disappointing- expected local Kauai coffee ( probably only gripe) wifi not everywhere but once you had a spot- you're golden! Great live entertainment and I was thrilled we didn't have to drive anywhere for a Luau the best one on the island is here!! Auli i' Luau only one with the beach for a night to remember. Just pray it doesn't rain! Anyway, great bar service by the pool- super friendly servers ( my fav Dennis) and bartenders (Jonas was awesome!). Family friendly and plenty of towels.
Can't beat the view, people or service- rooms can be cool and dry to beat the heat and humidity- got ours down to 65 one night and bed was made correctly with a sheet between you and comforter- hygienic! Mahalo Sheraton!

My husband and I are on our 21 anniversary and spent 4 days here on the second leg of our Hawaii trip.
From the time we checked in till the time we left every staff member goes out of the way to make you feel welcome. Our room was large with an ocean view updated and Beautiful. I highly recommend staying there !

While the Sheraton Kaua'i Poipu shows its age in the dated rooms, the service is good and our stay was comfortable. There is a hidden gem in this aged resort: Rum Fire. This beautiful restaurant sits at the edge of the Pacific facing Southwest with glass on all views. Created by Hurricane Iwa who annihilated this area in 1982, Rum Fire likely will remain as ephemeral as all Poipu for the next big storm.

Meanwhile, enjoy the excellent cuisine and some world class service. Sunset is at 6:30 ish, so we had booked a table at 5:45 through Yelp, which they use, and requested a front window table, That request was not relayed to the Maitre D', but he seated us there anyway. And best of all, he seated us at Gian Franco's station.

Our server not only knew all the intimate details about the menu, but made us welcome -- even when it became obvious we would not order huge meals either by quantity or price point.

My wife and I split all the selections, which was just the right amount of food for us both. Starter was the roasted brussel sprouts with Portugese sausage, an islands' spin on a classic Spanish dish. Entree was roasted butterfish, which the Rum Fire is known for, served atop Napa cabbage and a complex rice. Butterfish is like it sounds, firm but flaky native white fish with a delicate finish. Our salad course of local organic romaine with lump crab meat sauced perfectly. Dessert was a coconut ginger creme brule,

SPG members staying at the resort get either a house wine of plonk free, or $20 off something decent. The only weak part of the restaurant from a fine dining sensibility is the wine list. However, the prices on good wine on the islands are so absurd, $20 off something servicable like the Rose we ordered is a great deal.

Finally, while the food is quite good for a remote island, which is trying to feature farm to table to the limited extent possible here, what sets the restaurant apart is its service. We have dined in some of the best restaurants in the world, and the service here was exceptional. Gian Franco knew his stuff, but so did the other two within ear or eye shot of our table, Bravo.

Very nice sandy beach! Rooms are large-we had an ocean view that was spectacular!!!! The pool is large and there was always a lounge available. Staff is friendly and helpful. Resort activities abound. We had a room with a great view of the luau entertainment which was a great surprise!!! Great accommodations, service and atmosphere.

Located at a very nice sand beach, rooms are ok. But don’t look at details: the beach restaurant has the atmosphere of a Burger King, the main restaurant serves good food but is a refrigerator (take a sweater along!).
Overall good value for money, but not really charming and very much mainstream american.
