“Fantastic!”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

My wife and I stayed here early March 2013. The deluxe ocean front room had a fantastic view with grass, rocks, palm trees and waves. Sunset from the lanai was a great bonus. The walking/ running path is just outside. Definitely pay the difference and stay on the beach side of the resort. The pool area was very nice. The lava outcroppings created beautiful pictures at onset. Rumfire restaurant was a favorite of ours - request the sunset booth at sunset. Again, an unobscured view of the sunset. The spa itself is nothing to write home about. We would definitely go back !

Room Tip: Go for the ocean front deluxe and be amazed at the view. There is just something about walking into...

First the bad. Rooms were clean but could use some updating, and they could use more light. We stayed in building 7 and the wifi signal was weak so the internet connection was very slow. We ate at the bar at RumFire one night - while the food was decent, the service was terribly slow and our server got our order wrong and made no apologies for it. We didn't find the concierge to be particularly helpful; we generally received curt replies to our questions. Also the cafe on site was unnecessarily expensive - one piece of fruit (a banana, an orange, or an apple) was $2.25. Stock up on fruits and snacks at nearby grocery stores so you don't have to pay such a ridiculous price.

Now the good. The hotel beach was nice especially since you can actually swim at this beach (as opposed to the Hyatt's beach), and the grounds are very nicely landscaped and well kept. The beach is a short walk away even if you are staying in a building not directly on the beach. I also like that they had self-parking available for free. Valets were all very friendly and eager to help with answering questions about local sites.

Room Tip: To save money, we stayed in a building on the other side of the property away from the beach. This...

Great location and services make this an easy choice for a stay in Poipu. Services at the hotel are average for a resort - good restaurant, fitness center, two pools (although smaller in size) and good beach location. Can go for runs in the morning and multiple classes to choose from at the hotel (lei making, hula, yoga, etc). As with any class - they are only as good as the instructors. Concierge onsite can easily arrange for helicopter tours (a must - make sure everyone gets a window seat), cruises to Na Pali coast (do not go if the captain says it will be choppy), zip lining and more!

We upgraded our room from one with a view of the garden to an ocean facing room that was about a 100 yards from the crashing waves! The beach in front of the hotel is a sandy beach you can swim in, there's a pathway that's great for walks/jogging, lawn areas that people use for yoga, sunset watching, whale watching, etc. we normally stay at condos so we missed having a kitchen and larger space but the hotel amenities and great location more than made up for it! We utilized their gym with an ocean view, fire rings, pool and jacuzzi.
Room service-I asked a housekeeper for extra cream ( there's a coffee maker in the room) one morning when I saw her out in the corridor-every morning after that, she gave me extra cream.
They have a beautiful luau every Monday and Wednesday-we enjoyed the show from the best seat in the house-our balcony!
I left my sweater in my room after checking out and was already at the airport, the hotel staff found my sweater and are shipping it to me!
One of the best vacations ever!

Terriffic hotel and resort on Hawaii's garden island. South side of island which is supposed to be arid, but quick showers pass through for just a few minutes. Fantastic room with ocean view. Staff very friendly and responsive. Room extremely comfortable. Pool smaller than Sheraton Maui; similar acutements, just on a little smaller scale. Made to feel at home and very welcome. Restaurant excellent (Rum Fire), and links coffee shop on site. Shopping a bit scattered if one of your couple likes to do so--no gift shop in hotel, but nice shops within a 10 minute walk. Beautiful sunsets. Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Ask for oceanside with lanai. West facing so you can see sunset.

W stayed at the Sheraton Kauai Resort for 7 nights from 2-22-13 thru 3-1-13 and had a wonderful time. The staff was very friendly and the room was very comfortable. We stayed in the Garden area and it was well worth it. The beach was not far and the Resort is well kept.

Room Tip: Garden view rooms look over a pool and manicured gardens. Ocen room look out over the ocean but are...

We were on the 3rd floor, with a view of the pool and ocean. The room was clean and comfortable. Complimentary bottled water stocked daily. Wifi worked fine.
Great front desk staff, bell staff, and housekeeping.
We stayed for 5 nights. Everyday, we were greeted by friendly staff.
We would definately return!

Room Tip: It seemed that any room with an ocean view would be a good room.
