This Hotel was a lovely place to stay at while visiting Kauai. We were celebrating our "good health" after each of us going through some serious health problems so we treated ourselves to something very special. We chose to have a beach front view and it was truly relaxing and a perfect view. We could see the sunset, whales, boats, surfers, paddle boarders, birds and a beautiful ocean. The room was comfortable, loved the Nespresso coffee machine provided, comfortable bed, TV in bedroom, sitting area and bathroom. Nice service from housekeeping.
The restaurant on the premises was also delightful and we enjoyed some excellent dishes as well as nice service. The dining room could get pretty noisy at times so that would be my only complaint. We also enjoyed breakfast each morning at the Hotel and felt the selection was wonderful and the service was friendly and warm.
My only complaint about our room would be that they give you 4 coffee pods for the Nespresso machine regardless of how long you stay, after that you have to buy them. I think each day they should give 2 complimentary coffee pods for the guests. They coast a $1.00 each at the front desk but I'm sure the Hotel pays less than that and it makes sense to me to be provided a daily cup of coffee in your room.
The front staff and the valet staff were so friendly which added to feeling very comfortable at this Hotel
I highly recommend this beach front Hotel and would return again. Even though I had a few complaints I still feel this is a 5 star Hotel.

Room Tip: We feel second level beach front is the best of the best but there were also other rooms that had oc...

The service was beyond expectations!
The Red Salt was the best on the island and equal to MAMA's on Maui. The special treat for our anniversary was a great surprise, Cotton Candy desert.

We definitely would go back.

We have been on a lot of vacations and this was our favorite. We were here for our baby-moon/ birthday. The rooms were very clean and comfortable the food was great. The Red Salt had some of the best food on the island. Love Kauai and love the Koa Ke'a! We will be back.

Koa Kea is a great place to stay if you are on your honeymoon or just looking to get away with your significant other. It caters to adults so there are not a lot (if any) kids around. We had an amazing time. You have your own little private beach, a pool and a hot tub. There are always plenty of chairs and they even have chairs that face the ocean which is perfect if you want to see the beach but not lay on it. The staff is very friendly and the food is amazing. We ate breakfast there every day and had lunch and dinner a few times as well. Every meal was great. I do not have one bad thing to say about the hotel. We wished we had spent more time there. A few other couples we met on Kauai said they were having trouble sleeping because the roosters would keep them but but that was never a problem for us at this hotel.

Room Tip: We had a garden view room which did have a partial ocean view and it was very nice.

I can really only reiterate all of the positive things that have been said about this lovely resort set right on the water in Poipu. We were celebrating our 30th Anniversary and were greeted warmly at reception and led to a beautiful room with a bottle of champagne. Every employee was friendly and helpful, no matter what the request. We found this a very convenient spot to access all that Kauai has to offer in activities such as hiking, kayaking and just general sightseeing. We didn't really use the pool, as we preferred the beautiful views of the ocean. The whole place had a serene and chic vibe. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed was so comfy, especially after our long trek to get there! The food at Red Salt was delicious and service was excellent. We also enjoyed eating in the bar area with the lighter-fare menu when we didn't want such a formal or heavy type meal. It was our first time on Kauai and I loved it. I would most definitely, and hope to return to this hotel in the future!

Tucked away among the many bigger hotels built after Iniki is this reminder of days long past. Old Lava rock walls, beautiful grounds where I used to take my children for Sunday brunch. Now a high end very personal and intimate hotel on the greatest beach ever created. If you want privacy and attention to detail, this is the place. Do try "Red Salt" for cocktails and the best shashimi ever! (even if your not staying here). And just sit back and watch for whales during winter or the green flash on cloudless horizons. Now my grandson will come back and spend his honeymoon here. Time really does fly. Live it well!! MykeTV: Try breakfast at La Spezia in Koloa or Joes on the green across the street.

Room Tip: worth the upgrade for on the ocean Back rooms do face the parking lot or adjacent hotels.

If you are looking for a wonderful place to spend time together such as a honeymoon or second honeymoon, this is the place. The room was perfect. We were served French Champaign the first night in our room and they provided fresh flowers as well. The staff was excellent. The were there to assist you in a flash. It was small enough that you were treated with the utmost of care. Excellent get away for couples. The location is great as well, located on the south shore with great beaches. Easy location to get anywhere on the island. Also great local restaurants and some shopping nearby. A little bit of paradise in paradise!

Room Tip: The extra for the ocean view was well worth it!
