excellent service! clean and great for honeymooners or couples that just need a hide-a-way. this is not a hotel set up for children. There is a spa on premise; just had no time to take advantage this time; we will be back. the hotel front desk treat you like royalty and the valet remember your name and eventually your car key number! excellent. they give you directions to sights you are going to and are most helpful. the airport is relatively close and the hotel is hidden but boy is worth finding and booking. we will be back and know what the lay of the land is now. also the sunsets are crazy beautiful and are seen right from the awesome lawn front near the pool. the lawn is special and unique to the property and facing the ocean. You can watch the surfers all day and not be disturbed just take it all in. the housecleaning staff do a great job and your bed is just the BEST. white, clean and fluffy fluffy fluffy. Yea! Enjoy your stay; we did.

Room Tip: We were happy with our partial ocean view room; although ocean front rooms looked fabulous!

We spent the first half of our trip at the St. Regis Princeville and then we happily headed south to the Koa Kea Resort. Although, the scenery is out of this world at the St. Regis and my husband loved surfing in Hanalei Bay - it did not compare to the Koa Kea. The rooms and resort seemed very dated at the St. Regis. The Koa Kea is one of my all time favorite places in the world. We have stayed here twice and it was perfect each time. The staff is unbelievably AMAZING in every way. The rooms are super comfortable and the whole resort is so relaxing and peaceful. The breakfasts are great and I'm really glad it was included in our package. Thank you again to everyone... especially Chico, Dean and the whole valet team. You guys made our stay extra special. We can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: Ocean view is great- love the rooms in the main building

I was trying to choose between the Grand Hyatt and the Koa Kea, after reading all the reviews, we choose the Koa Kea. Our room was wonderful (Ocean Front), housekeeping came often and was very accomodating. Car valet and front desk were great. But this is not a $700.00 a night hotel, it is a hotel on a great location that isn't crowded. As long as you aren't expecting 700.00 a night accomodations and service, you'll enjoy this hotel.

No review or pictures on here do this place justice. It was unbelievable. We stayed there for our honeymoon and wow. Complimentary valet, champagne surprise in our room, chocolates. All the staff knew us by name. Housekeeping comes by multiple times a day to see if you need anything. Complimentary towels to take with you on excursions. Little note cards for adventures. They do more than any other 5 star resort/hotel I've ever stayed at and they do it better. This place beats the Ritz hands down. By far the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in.

It's an amazing view with a great pool, hot tub, excellent food, and access to the beach. They also offer surfing and other lessons/adventures right from the hotel.

This place is perfect for COUPLES. I wouldn't recommend it for families or kids however. It's too romantic.

Room Tip: they're all amazing rooms, but I'd have to say the ocean side on the second or third floor is the best. Either a full ocean view or partial ocean view. The partial view rooms also view the amazing pool.

This hotel is exactly what we were looking for. A quiet, upscale, relatively small hotel that provides excellent service. We stayed in late September and were a little surprised at the number of people at the resort however it was still very relaxing and quiet. This is not the place for young children or teenagers, nor will you hearing loud music coming from the bar at 2 a.m. Everyone on staff greets you by name, very friendly, and the valet attendants were extremely helpful in providing advice on directions, where to go and what to see - Darin, especially. Red Salt is awesome, and there are also good places to dine nearby in all price ranges - (Josselin's, Keoki's, Savage Shrimp). The only minus would be the internet access was real spotty at times in the room, but then again, when you are on vacation, such things should not really matter. We will definitely be coming back to the Koa Kea, as there is no place comparable in our opinion.
