“Nearly flawless stay”

Location and value and great overall experience for any traveler.

Beachfront 1-bed/1bath (221) would have worked as planned but an issue was found with it. Staff was accommodating and was relocated to 1-bed/1.5bath (319), which was not only larger but better appointed.

Walk the 2-mile path, steps away from the beach, snorkel at Lydgate, BBQ a meal, or just hang loose on the balcony...not much more you can ask for.

Since units are independently owned (décor, maintenance, any updates), suggest you take time to list any preferences you have upon booking. Unit was assigned only upon check-in. If opted next time, I would gladly pay a premium for reserving a specific unit, (319), as opposed to the off-chance of getting something less than ideal.

Room Tip: Unit 319 is recommended - nice décor and use of building materials

We had a family celebration vacation and stayed in an upstairs 2bed 2 bath condo (201) for 10 days and we could not have asked for more. Everything was better than expected. The condo had everything we needed for cooking family meals. The nightly trade winds were just what we needed to cool the place down and when that wasn't quite enough one night the ceiling fans did the trick (so its ok not having AC). We used the pool one night which was in pristine condition. We were provided blue beach towels that we would use and then could exchange for clean ones every day at the front office. The BBQ was in ok working order, the flame was not working really well, but it cooked the meat. There were boogie boards, coolers, and beach chairs and mats stored in the unit that we were able to use (and very grateful for) The location of the condo is great, it is approx. 45 minutes to Poipou and everything south, 5-10 minutes to Walmart and Costco and 45 minutes to the North shore. Besides all of our excursions to the different parts of this beautiful island, the two most memorable things about staying at the Kaha Lani were the staff (April is one of the kindest, accommodating people we have met) and the AMAZING, BREATHTAKING views of the sunrise. You will not be disappointed!!

My husband located this place through a Hawaiian Airline deal and trip advisor. What a great find! Centrally located (close to airport and middle of island highway with easy drives to each end), with a park on either side, one of which is the safest tide areas at Lygate (sp?) Park too - kids loved that beach. The condo we had was great, second floor with great view of the ocean and sunrise, wonderful breeze through the slider, very nice inside with the ammenities and decor (all the cooking and utensils, although we were out most often, we used it for breakfast and coffee!). The only minor items that would have been nice, more bath towels (multiple showers when you're in and out of the ocean and out to eat), and better tissue brand (those were not kleenex!). We would definitely stay there again, the grounds were neat, clean, no loud or scary people around, nor obnoxious neighbors -- just lots of Roosters at 4 and 5 a.m. in the park! But of course, that's the island "bird."

Room Tip: All units seemed like they might have a good view of the ocean by design, but the kitchen west facin...

Our positive experience began before our arrival. With a dinner cruise scheduled for day one in Kauai and a 7 am flight arrival time, we were interested in an early check in. A call to Cary (spelling?) a couple days before arriving and another call the day of arrival resulted in an early check in. The oceanfront condo my daughter booked felt like home or at least a friend's home.

Besides all the necessities it had books, games, videos, boogie boards, beach chairs and more. However we never turned the TV on, opting for the lanai and a nice beach view. The beach which was very private is separated by a shrub and walking path and a nice lawn. We saw this as a positive, especially for guests with children. Also there us a wonderful state park beach just a short walk up the beach with rocked off pools in the ocean which are perfect for children and lap swimmers.

The condo appeared recently remodeled. It has a nice living/dining area with a fully equipped kitchen.

I am already (through Facebook) suggesting anyone visiting Kauai stay at this property. If we visit Kauai again this is certainly the place we will stay.

We were looking for a place with beach frontage and a king size bed at a reasonable rate. What we got was spectacular barefoot beach sunrises every morning 100 paces from the lanai at an unbelievable rate. No A/C, no need for it with temperate ocean breezes. Ah, and no A/C noise either, just waves and roosters (this IS Kauai). The only minus was that the washer/dryer in the unit were locked up. Suits dry SLOWLY here, bring 2 or 3. But beach towels were readily exchanged. Centrally located in the middle of Lydgate State Park near the mouth of the Wailua River. The beach is not recommended for swimming but I thought it was easier and much more fun than Ha'ena Beach Park. A rock protected kids and snorkel pool plus other attractions are just down the path. Also a large 8 foot deep pool is on site with grills. If you like driftwood this section of coast is paradise. All units are individually owned and ours had artistic and caring owners.

Room Tip: Pay the reasonable upcharge for ocean front. It's SOOO worth it.

First of all, we had a great time in Kauai. This island is not touristy. It is laid-back, yet offers a lot of great outdoor and ocean/beach activities! We stayed in an ocean front unit on the 3rd floor. We had a great view of the ocean. Sunrise view was so beautiful. Constant trade wind kept us cool, though there was no AC. The unit was well decorated, and appointed with appliances and amenities. We ate our breakfast and dinner in the unit most of our stay. They have a laundry room behind the office, which was useful. At front desk they sell detergent and make changes. Make sure you have enough quarters if you want to do your laundry before/after the office hours. It is only a minute walk to the beach – well it is right in front of Kaha Lani. We saw some kids swimming, but the waves looked too rough, we did not take any risks here. Walking on the beach or the concrete walkway was relaxing, it leads to Lydgate Park ( 5-10 min). There are two protected ocean pools for swimming/snorkeling. The water was a bit murky, but we saw more fish here than some of the other nicer beaches/reefs. Kaha Lani being in the east side, it was convenient to go north or south and west sides of the island. There are no restaurants/bars or shops in the premise or in walking distance, but it did not bother us at all. After the fun outdoor activities during the day, we had a relaxing evening and enjoyed listening the sound of waves.

Room Tip: Ocean front is worth it.

My wife and I stayed at this condo on our honeymoon for 10 days. We arrived late at night, having flown in from Massachusetts. The security officer was waiting for us as we pulled into the parking lot and immediately greeted us and brought us to our condo. It was a smooth entrance and great guest service that continued throughout our visit. Having read some of the reviews prior to booking this trip, we had reservations about privacy (some said walls were "thin") and security. This is simply untrue. We enjoyed a quiet and spacious condo that allowed us to feel like we were in our own space, rather than being in a crowded resort. Our balcony opened onto the ocean allowing us to enjoy the trade winds blowing all the times. We were worried about not having an air conditioner in the room (we need this in the hot summers in MA) but with the winds blowing, the air conditioner wasn't necessary. I can't say enough about our experience here. Kaha Lani is centrally located to MANY attractions and parts of the island we wanted to experience. Easy access to shops, food, snorkeling, hiking etc. We watched the sunrise each morning over the ocean and enjoyed walks on the beach just outside our door in evening. The guest service here allowed us to feel taken care of and appreciated. The security staff was exceptional and helpful. With geckos and frogs for the kids to play with to the peaceful private feeling for honeymooners- we'd recommend this place to anyone.
