If you want to crank it over boulders, splash through streams, and get pumped up & muddy, this is not the tour for you. If you want to take photos of expansive views and Hollywood movie locations and hear stories about the history of Kauai and of the land, with a touch of adventure, you will enjoy this tour. Don't misunderstand; you will bounce and splash and could potentially roll over, but it you take the big puddles slow and maintain a good following distance, you won't get that dusty or muddy (provided it's not raining or wet out).
Marlin and Lumbo (self-proclaimed "local boys") were entertaining and informative and offered great safety instruction to make everyone comfortable with their vehicles. The helmets (some with GoPro mounts) were clean, the goggles were spotless, and I actually thought the bandannas were new. (As soon as we turned them back in, the helmets & goggles were cleaned with Lysol & Windex, and the bandannas were laundered.) The vehicles were all in great shape; the green Teryx-4 UTVs seemed brand new and the blue ones not much older. The snacks were great (especially the homemade cookies), and the port-a-potty in the middle of the tour even flushed!
Your expensive camera will be safe if you protect it with padding and a splash-proof bag.
Recommended: sunblock, bug repellent (mosquitoes at check-in area); long pants, long sleeves (to protect you from sunburn, mosquitoes, & dirt/mud); closed-toed shoes fit for hiking (though very minimal hiking is involved); bathing suit if you want to take a dip; towel & bottled water or antibacterial wipes for your hands.
