This is an ATV (Side by Side) ride that takes you through some ranch area. Doesn't sound like much but it is. We went to several waterfalls, and saw some amazing scenery. We stopped for lunch while watching some zip-liners go by. If you sat still and watched the trees, some beautiful tropical birds would land. Now, let me tell you why this trip was so awesome for me and my wife. We have grown up with ATV's, quads, side by sides, etc. so this trip was not so much the driving experience but seeing Kauai. You have to remember that Kauai gets a LOT of rain. More than any other place on the planet. Since we went during the winter, it had rained a lot. I talked to one of the tour guides and let him know my wife and I are very experienced. He recommended us to ride in the very back. I now know why (see some of the pictures). One guide leads and the other follows from the rear. They take everyone around a circle when you first start out to make sure everyone can steer and brake, etc. The guide told me there are many pot holes filled with water. He recommended everyone just go through them at a moderate speed. He told me to hang back and then floor it through the muddy water. We did and it was a blast. Muddy water would shoot up over the front of the side by side and we would get totally drenched. We loved it. When we got to the first waterfall, we both got in the water thinking all the mud would come off - wrong. Now we know about some of the T-shirts that sell and they say made from Hawaii's red mud. We didn't need to buy a t-shirt like this - we already had one. This mud will not come off. We didn't care because it was so much fun. Now you don't have to do what we did, you can slow down but that is no fun. The guides had a bet to see who could get the muddiest. We won of course. We had a great lunch and then off to another waterfall. Both my wife and I swam - the water was cold but you got used to it. There was also a rope you could swing on and jump into the water. For us, this was one of the hi-lites of our vacation.

We did the kayak tour up the river and then hiked through the rainforest to the water hole with the rope swing. the guides were great very knowledgeable and entertaining. the scenery is just breathtaking, worth the trip just for the views. the hike was good, we would have enjoyed more time for swimming and playing on the rope swing.

We chose the ranch tour as we were able to see several waterfalls on other tours. This was a great excursion. We had awesome tour guides. Justin is native to kauai and extremely knowledgable and friendly. He provided an extremely entertaining and informative tour. Dallas was his assistant and he also shared some good knowledge, especially on local dining/happy hour suggestions. They could tell we were looking for an adventure so they allowed us to ride in the back of the group so we could wait a little bit and get a more exciting ride. The machines were in very good shape and safety was stressed as some parts of the tour had rough terrain. The views of kipu ranch were spectacular, we felt like we were in avatar! Overall the riding was at a cruising speed and the tour was more about sightseeing, but we knew that going in. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this tour.

We spent nearly four hours touring this beautiful 4200+ acre ranch! We had an absolutely perfect morning! Rain last night made for perfect, non-dusty conditions!
The equipment was great, the ranch was beautiful and the staff outstanding! Our guides Troy & Lumbo were knowledgable and very entertaining! They explained the history of the ranch, cultural information, movie trivia for all the films made on the ranch and information on all the plants and animals!
We had a great time and will visit them again the next time we visit Kauai!
