It is a good place to begin with... a good meal at Duke, an easy parking at the restaurant, good paddle and swimming

We frequent this beach as it is close to our home and because it is usually a pretty calm beach with mellow waves. It is not the nicest beach, but it has some restaurants nearby and it kept very clean since there is a hotel resort there. It is adjacent to the harbor so you can see the cruise ships coming and going which is fun.

Our hotel, the Marriott , is on this beach. Locals mix well here with visitors.
I loved the variety of activity on this not so large beachfront.
Sand volleyball, motor less boating, boggie boards, we took a paddle board lesson here.
Mix on this beach of calm and high waves, nice place to spot sea turtles. Stop in at Dukes for a bite or a Mai Tai.
Enjoy!

We visited several beaches in our visit to Kauai but always happy to come back to Kalapaki. It's a beautiful, calm beach and it definitely helped that we were staying at the Marriott.

This is a small public bay beach. Parking is at the Marriott hotel. Lots of stand up paddleboarders, surfers, and some snorkeling. There is a rental place for all the water activities on one end of the beach. They also give lessons on standup paddleboarding. It's ok as beaches go. Not too crowded, but not the quintessential Hawaiian beach.
