“Best part about hotel!”

Loved the breakfast buffet, the Friday night buffet prime rib and Alaskan King Crab, and the regular restaraunt.

“Best Brunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2014

We arrived late the night before and thus needed a hearty breakfast after traveling and a nights rest. It was well worth the splurge. Grounds are beautiful Christine our waitress was attentive and full of a wealth of locals knowledge. The muesli cooked with cocoanut milk was great. The fruit was amazing, Pineapple with chili lime sweet and savory. Potato hash with sunny side up egg was a hit. I could go on and on.
The setting over looking the pool was best way to start a trip to this beautiful island. The beach here is also a sight to see. worth taking the time to see. Parking was free unless you choose to valet. Definitely worth the splurge!

“Very Good Casual Fine Dining”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2014

We stayed at the Marriott on whose grounds this restaurant occupies pool-side, and ate there every day for their breakfast buffet, and one evening dropped by for dessert. The breakfast buffet is pricey, $25.99 per person, but the food and service makes it worth it. They have an excellent omelette station and will create whatever omelette you want. They also have everything else you would find at a buffet ( toast, fresh fruit, bagels, juices, yogurt, granola, broiled grapefruit, fresh fruit and waffles, pancakes and French toast, plus the whole pastry area). They always have plenty of bacon as well. What I liked was them serving what I assume is local for breakfast: pork fried rice, Portuguese sausage, grits and shrimp. This restaurant is open-air poolside which can make it noisy when the pools are full of kids or it's happy hour and there's loud-talkers at the bar. The one evening we went there for dessert, and we chose Chef Nancy's take on Mud Pie, and oh my! Kona ice cream on a chocolate chip cookie crust, decadent whipped cream and fresh strawberry, drizzled with caramel and chocolate sauces. We were in heaven, what a wonderful end to our vacation!

“Convenient and casual pool and beach food.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2014

Situated at the Marriott Beach Club right next to its mammoth pool and the magnificent beach, this is a very nice place for beachside snacks, drinks or sandwiches, bar foods, etc.including local fisnes, Kaluai pork, great fries, etc. they offer beach service or umbrella shaded relief -alwyas ther is a congenial bar crowd as well. prices typically a little high (hey it's a hotel service!)but worth the easy access-especially when in a wet bathing suit. (I could also mention it's not bad to watch the native and migrant wildlife either!

“Don't waste your time”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 22, 2014

We were staying at the hotel where Kukui's is and, since it was my boyfriend's birthday, I thought it would be a nice dinner. It happened to be the same night as the "buffet" which they only have on Friday. We saw, later in the week, that this is also the only night that anyone eats here. For good reason. The menu is OK. Nothing special but it's pricey. The fish was very overdone. When I asked to have mine undercooked, he said "we always cook our fish thru". Yuck. The salad plates were still in front of us when the entrees came, the server didn't know if he had the right food and which plate went to which of us, the entree plates sat and sat and sat while we waited to order dessert, the Hula Pie was almost melted when it arrived and then, to top it off, we never saw the waiter again to pay. We had to get the hostess (who ALSO couldn't find him) to get the check and pay. It was awful and there are MUCH better options in the area.
