this resto is so overpriced that it is out of sight. the food can be decent but i know for a fact that it is not particularly fresh at times. the owner seems to be over the top cutesy Italian which i find annoying. i have eaten at some of the best restos in the world and this does not even come close. don't waste your money

“Disappointment with a view”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

First, let me say the view is stunning, and simply sitting here with a glass of wine as the sun sets and a harpist plays can be a delightful moment.

Unfortunately, the entrees were not up to expectations.

To start, we had a Mozzarella Caprese as an appetizer, and it was excellent! Fresh tomatoes, good cheese. Very nice. A glass of white wine was nice as well; they have a good selection for decent prices. If we stopped here, it'd be 5 stars.

Then, dinner arrived - I had the Ono (Wahoo) in Piccata Sauce, and it was ... tough. "Ono" is supposed to mean "sweet, very good to eat", but this was more like a steak than a delicate white fish. It was like it had been sitting in the back with the beef, getting pointers on being tough. Certainly OK to eat, with a decent sauce, but not what I expected.

My wife had penne pasta, and my son had spaghetti, both with a red sauce, and both were... odd. The red sauce had an unexpected flavor to it, not like normal Marinara sauces, and the penne came with Italian sausage that just didn't seem very good. My son, a growing teen and normally able to eat 2 plates of pasta easily, couldn't finish his spaghetti and it gave him an upset stomach. He went back to the room early.

The harpist that plays at sunset makes a very nice atmosphere. And, as we said before, the view of the beach is lovely. However, a harp and a view can't make up for lousy food.

The idea of a good Italian restaurant in the Marriott compound is a good one; the kitchen needs to execute better to make this a worthy destination as well.

“Worst meal we had on the island”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

The soup tasted like it came from a can and was so watered down it felt like I was eating at a soup kitchen that had run out of food. My husband's fish had this same watered down "sauce" on it. The lasagna tasted like it had been made with rancid meat. You get charged for every refill of soda in your small glass. To top it off our bill was outrageous and we discovered it was because the waitress had added a $30 tip on our party of 2! She tried to say "the machine did it. Hmmmmm
