“Where the locals go- It has to be good”
Reviewed March 1, 2014

Our first morning in Kauai always starts with breakfast at Dani's. It is a no nonsense restaurant, with tables along the 3 walls and in the middle area. Locals and tourist will sit elbow to elbow for breakfast or lunch. They always have 3 or 4 breakfast specials and coffee is included in the price. The waitresses are very friendly and the atmosphere is very up. Open till 1:00 six days a week. We always go here at least 3 days a week for breakfast and several times for lunch. They have been there since the 50's so they must be doing something right. A smile and a warm "hi" will get you everywhere. Oh yes, the food is excellent and they have many Hawaiian items on the menu.

“Very Good Alternative For Expensive Hotel Breakfast”
Reviewed February 17, 2014

While we have been coming here for years, I have never written a review until now. Dani's is a great local place in Lihu'e for breakfast or lunch ONLY. Its loud, its community seating and driving into and out of the parking lot can at times be like playing Russian roulette!! That said, leave your pretense in your hotel room, as Dani's compares to the local neighborhood place you will find back home!! Sweetbread French Toast and Blueberry (with fresh blueberries) Hotcakes are a must. Eggs and bacon, sausage or SPAM along with Hash Browns are all excellent. Fresh juice and a pitcher of Kauai Coffee sitting on the table is refilled without your asking... And, the best part is that prices are about 1/3 of what you would pay for a family of 4 at any of the nearby hotels... So, Enjoy!!!

“Cheap breakfast place”
Reviewed February 13, 2014 via mobile

When you just want some eggs and to sit and drink some coffee this is your place. A humble place filled with locals, it's got no ambiance but who cares? I had the blueberry hot cakes and they were great! Made with real blueberries.

“What's the big deal?”
Reviewed February 5, 2014

We went there for breakfast with intentions to come back for lunch as it was advertised everywhere. We ordered Kalua pig plate which came with popu and salmon salsa. It was small appetizer plate with pretty much 1 big spoon of pulled pork, which was salty. On the same plate was small plastic container with salsa which had smallest pieces of salmon I've ever seen (like 1/4" by 1/4") and on the side small container of taro mashed. And that was $9.00! What???? obviously we did NOT came back for lunch!
