Passing by on the morning exercise walk, I noticed this new establishment on the ocean side of the Anchor Cove shopping area. We came for breakfast and found both Japanese-style and "standard" menu items. The food was very fine and the service excellent. We came back that evening and split a dinner of salmon on a bed of rice - again delicious.
For the evening meal, the restaurant was quite full with "locals" comprising most of the patrons - a very good sign of the establishments quality. It was noisy but tolerable. The crowd was also a good indication that this 2-3 month old restaurant would be there the next time we visit Kauai.

We have been coming to Kauai for years. We have tried ALL the sushi places recommended here and in the Ultimate Kauai book. They are all just marginal. Bamboo is relatively new and tucked away, you might miss it. We actually had breakfast there one day and asked the waiter how was their sushi at night. We decided to try it - WOW just WOW.

The guy that owns it couldn't be nicer. Delicious edamame, they add garlic. We had the Tuna Nigiri - they should have called it Maguro steak. It was the reddest, thickest cut of fish we have ever had on sushi. It was so good we ordered 3 more orders. We also had the U-H roll ( tuna avocado and mac nut) delish as well - only think I would suggest would be to put half a mac nut in the roll rather than crushed on top.

The prices are reasonable - and much less than other places in town esp considering what you would get ( example that huge cut of tuna we had would have easily cost 10-12 in Atlanta or Ny)

Massive Mahalo to the chef and staff ( derek) for a great few days - we went back again and again and as soon as of friends arrive on the island we will drive down from Princeville to go again.

It is tucked down a walkway left of the ABC store at Nawilliwilli, but take the time to find it.
Friendly greeting and service with a good menu to pick from.
The pancakes are huge for breakfast, we liked the pancake special as you got two eggs, two huge pancakes and three bacon...enough to keep you going for the day. It was all good and fast, for on the island. The white syrup is coconut :)
We also had dinner there the night before.
The food is Hawaiin-Japanese so don't expect the sushi to be like Japanese style. It is bigger and bigger! We ordered two sushi rolls and we were both full after that. We had the Rainbow Warrior, $18 and the Eternal Sunshine, $16. Both were really, really good, but I liked the Eternal better and my wife the Rainbow Warrior. It may seem expensive but since it filled both of us and things are more expensive on the Islands, it was a good deal. The wait for the sushi is a bit slow, as there is only one sushi-San preparing it.
They take credit cards and you can sit outside with the Great view and breeze, but NO alcohol outside. :(
Overall a really good place to have a good meal, an easy walk from the cruise ships too.
