Located on the ground floor of the historic Kilohana Plantation home, diners are seated around an open-air courtyard with views of the plantation grounds and Mt. Waialeale in the distance. Our kitchen uses only the freshest, seasonal ingredients supporting our local farmers and fishermen. Our 67-acre sustainable farm provides much of the produce and herbs used in our dishes and cocktails. Menu items include starters like fresh Ahi Poke, Seafood Spring Rolls and Organic Greens Salads; Local Fish, Meat and Vegetarian Entrees; and Banana Cream Pie for Dessert! After your meal take a walk around the Kilohana grounds, shop in our assorted boutiques, visit the rum shop or take a ride on the plantation train. Join us at Gaylord's to enjoy the best of what Kauai has to offer in island food and experience. Call for reservations and details on weekly entertainment. Memorable by day...Unforgettable by Night.

“Best Mai Tai”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 9, 2014

We stopped in at the plantation and went for the rum tasting at Kolola which was fun. Then stuck around for Happy Hour at the Mohiko Lounge at Gaylord's. The Mai Tai was the best I have had on the entire island. They have a "5 for 5" menu that you can get some lite eats with your drinks. A bit pricy but if you like Mai Tai's it may be worth the trip.

“Great food, great setting and best Mai Ti's”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 8, 2014

We came for the drinks. Had a coupon for a drink. Good thing as the are best authentic Hawaiian drinks but very pricey. Food also excellent. Best way to go is always catch of the day or special.

“Super food, service, and atmosphere!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 8, 2014 via mobile

We have dined at Gaylord's annually for the past ten years and it continues be one of our top dining choices when on Kauai. The restaurant is located in a former plantation home, the property hosts a luau, and the Koloa Rum store (on-site) offers rum tasting. Not cheap but definitely worth the price. Highly recommended!

“Interesting place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2014

We were hungry and were looking for a place to stop.

It is an interesting mansion just outside of the Lihue. The prices are high but the enviroment was really relaxing. sitting under a cover in a courtyard with live piano music and interesting food.

We would recommend this if you want to splurge.

“Big disappointment at a high price”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2014

This was our second time at Gaylord's with fond memories of a good meal eight years ago. The courtyard setting on a big estate is charming but we had big issues with service and food quality. Prices here are on Par with Roy's, where we had flawless food and service. Service at Gaylord's was friendly but very spotty with long delays. Thirty minutes after our young server promised dinner breAd we asked the assistant for bread. Within five minutes we each received a single dried up dinner roll, similiar to what I have in my freezer. The hard tasteless roll was difficult to chew and laughable given the high prices charged. We had seven at the table. Fish and steak were both overlooked and the person who ordered a fish based soup or stew reported the fish tasted old. Portions of meals were forgotten and brought out late. We felt this was a very poor value for the money charged. Incidentally, we patronized fine dining establishments all over the island I and the only one we will avoid is Gaylord's.
