We stayed here for one night only. Our flight from LA arrived very late, we decided to stay overnight near Lihue airport rather than drive all the way north in the dark in the middle of the night as we were so tired after a long day of delays. We were very happy with this hotel and got a great rate. Our room was very nice, a very comfortable bed, nice bed lines, and a good size bathroom. We took an early morning walk along the rugged beach, which we had to ourselves, before we checked out. The location seems a bit isolated and would necessitate a car to get around, but overall we were very impressed.

We found the description of the amenities and hotel were accurate. Very clean and well maintained. Good location if you plan on seeing the entire island since it is centrally located to everything and close to airport. Would stay there again and recommend to everyone.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel in November 2013. There was no pool/hot tub supervision and many, many children were running around the pool and hot tub area unsupervised in mid-afternoon. Four children (ages three - nine) were blocking the only entrance into getting into the hot tub, and were spitting into it as well. I hurt my back when I missed the step as I entered the hot tub because I had to step around the children and stepped from the deck to the hot tub "floor" - approximately three feet below. The children's mother became confrontational after I requested that the children get supervision as per the hotel's sign posted at the hot tub - then proceeded to lecture me on how she was a native Hawaiian, had raised her children well, and could watch them from around the corner. I left the hot tub feeling like a non-welcome Main-lander. Security was no where to be found! Also, I booked the room in advance to include all fees and a rental car -- and was surprised to have a $17/day charge to park my rental car "hit" my bill when I checked out.

Aloha and thank you for taking the time to write a review on the Kauai Beach Resort. Needless to say, we are disappointed to learn of the concerns you had in our pool facility. This type of incident is very rare and not the norm at our resort. Our security team patrols the property around the clock and our pool staff would have been able to assist you immediately. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced. With respect to the inadvertent parking charge you received upon your departure, we again apologize for this error and hope that our front desk staff resolved it without issue. We hope to welcome you back to the beautiful Garden before too long. Mahalo!

Stayed at the hotel from 09/07/13-09/11/13 and had a great time. The hotel was very nice and a great location on the island. The staff at the front desk provided above and beyond support and all of the staff provided exceptional service. The rooms were very clean and well kept each day. The hotel has a great pool to relax by with a drink or two and the beach is very clean and not crowded. Looking forward to returning the first week of December for another vacation.

My husband and I stayed at the Kauai Beach Resort during it's last season as a Hilton property. We were afraid that leaving the Hilton brand might be a negative for the resort's future. We could not have been more wrong. Under the Aqua management, the resort is better than ever. For starters, the location is perfect. The hotel is just 10 minutes north of the airport on the east side of the island. The resort property is surrounded by park land, so unlike Poipu or Princeville where you are surrounded by hotels, villas and people, at the Kauai Beach you only see ocean, beach, mountains and the most amazing sunrises. You truly feel it is your own oasis. The grounds are well kept and pretty, and thankfully lack the "Disney-esque feel of the Marriott that is located on nearby Kalapaki Beach. (We did stay at the Marriott on an earlier trip and hated using so much of our vacation time walking to our room. The complex is huge.) So, yes, the Marriott may be a four star property due to it's "grandeur" but the amenities provided by nature make the Beach Resort a four star in my eyes. The rooms, while smallish and with older furniture, are extremely clean and more than adequate for a vacation best spent outside. Each morning we enjoyed a buffet breakfast that included fresh fruit and juices, an omelet bar, and daily selections of eggs and breakfast meats. Our ample breakfasts kept us going until dinner time. After spending our days exploring the island, it was great to come back to the resort to unwind with a walk on the rocky, but very pretty beach and to enjoy the nightly live music in the bar. We did not eat dinner at the hotel, but instead used the hotel's central location for easy access to a variety of great restaurants just minutes away. The property's location, amenities and excellent price are enough to make this a great choice, but we were also impressed with the friendly and helpful staff. When making our reservations I ended up in an e-mail "conversation" with reservationist, Ann Arrisgado. I can not believe the level of personal service she gave in order for us to have a truly great experience with the perfect room location. Our housekeeper, Lily Beth, did an excellent job and was always pleasant when we'd meet in the hallway. At the front desk, Elizabeth Yago assisted us with a late check-out, with professionalism and a smile. The only negative I can make is one I've read in other reviews. As simple as check-in and check-out was at the registration desk, I would think a better plan would be in place for the simple act of getting a towel for the pool. The towel check-out process is confusing and cumbersome. On our first trip to the pool we went to the pool desk and requested two towels. The girl working there asked if we were registered. As newly arrived guests, we answered "yes", and then found out she meant registered for towels, not the hotel. (We reheard this same conversation with other guests during our entire stay). You have to complete a registration form to get towels, then check them back in (not return them though, because there is a different drop box for that) before 5:00 pm or take them to the front desk after 5:00. If your towels have not been returned by your hotel checkout time, the cost is immediately added to your bill. I understand that it must be difficult to keep track of towels that wander off to not only the pool but the Waimea River for kayaking, or upcountry for tubing....but...couldn't it be a simpler process....and done with a smile?

Kauai Beach resort is a nice 3 star place to stay. It's a 10 minute drive from the airport. The rooms were a nice size. The decor and furniture is a bit dated and could use updating. We had a nice ocean view room with a small patio. Large flat screen television. Bathroom was okay although one day there was hair still on the floor right after the cleaning personnel had been there. Bathroom was a decent size but fixtures could use updating. The pool area is small but nice with a waterfall and a slide. The areas around the pool are very well kept. The beach is a few steps off the property but its pretty deserted as it's really rocky and swimming is not recommended. Rooms were quiet at night but there was we were awoken in the mornings by a rooster. Parking is around $16 a day. Free Wi-fi is available only in the lobby. It should be free in rooms too.

We had a great time at the Resort. Great location, great staff. Especially the valet when we got back to the hotel our first night there and he said "welcome home". Great customer service !! Our only complaints are the beach towel thing is hard to figure out at first, but really wasn't a big deal.
One other problem is all hotels in Hawaii are smoke free, and we had one of the only true beach front rooms, so where do they put the smokers outposts? Right in front of our room, so when you wake to watch the sun rise over Kauai you get to have all the smokers to hang out with.....not cool
