“We loved it!”
Reviewed October 14, 2011

Overall this was a very nice place to stay. The rooms were great and comfy. We had a first floor room that had a nice patio to sit out on in the morning and be greeted by the ducks.

The pool area was fantastic and was never really crowded. The staff was really friendly and helpful.

The only complaint I have is the restaurants in the resort are pretty pricey. The food is good but if you are coming here on a budget you definitely won't be able to eat here every night. You will definitely have to rent a car but you have to pay for parking which is also a little downfall.

The beach behind the resort is beautiful. It's not a swimming beach but you can still stick your feet in and take a nice stroll. We also enjoyed watching the sunrise from the beach.

Other than the few cons I listed, we absolutely loved our stay here and it was a beautiful place! I would love to come back :)

Kauai Beach resort is a lovely hotel set in attractive grounds.

The Kauai beach resort is a lovely hotel. set amidst beautiful gardens with three swimming pools and has all the ambience for a relaxing holiday. Lovely restaurant with good range of food. A free shutttle bus takes you to the shopping centre nearby-you need to stock up for lunches as only pool bar open. All that aside the pool bar menu was ok. very relaxed but friendly staff and good standard of food and cleanliness in the hotel.

Stayed at the KBR for 10 Days until the 24th of Sept and the location of the hotel was perfect for touring the island, and central to ameneties. The property is beautiful and very well maintained and the while we there it never seemed to be crowded. We were out and about every day travelling to different spots to spend our days, so the hotel was in essense a home base. We had a problem with our tv and also with some ants in the room (which were no doubt attracted by our snacks), which were dealt with very promptly by the hotel staff. The room was comfortable and the bed was great. Staff were nice. They should deal with the priority of the parking as a concept though, even although as they say on the back sign, through these doors pass great employees, they should prioritize the spaces so that the most convenient and closest spaces are for the guests, not the staff, including the Valet, and that the general parking should be the closest for guests, period. Anything less inherently diminishes the service level to guests and their comfort and convenience. We paid for in room internet, in addition to the parking fee and the total fees for the hotel, we found to be reasonable overall. Did not eat there as we were out most of the time travelling, so can't comment on that. There are many great restaurants nearby, with Kauai Pasta being great, the Fish Hut in the Coconut Marketplace for a cheap and great grilled Fish Sandwich, Wahoo for a great Seafood Dinner, (try the Crab Cakes, they are awesome), and the Brick Oven Pizza for a great Pizza. Dukes near the Marriot Beach Resort has a great atmosphere and great views/get there early for dinner 4:45 and you will get the best table in the house overlooking the beach when they open at 5/and the food is great. I used to be an Exec Chef, so I know a thing or two about food..Rent a convertable, as it makes travelling around a lot of fun. It was our 25th anniversary and a very memorable and enjoyable trip.

We loved this place. Booked quite a beautiful suite, comfortable beds and the pool was truly pristine!! It is though reccomended to rent a bike to move nearby. Quiet, authentic and most of all an outstanding resort crew made our time the best in Kauai. The food, although pricey, was delicious. But most of all, Kauians were wonderful and made our stay unforgettable. Aloha-Mahalo!!!

Nice hotel, with part of the property apparently sold as condos. Very nice rooms with easy access to pools and beach. (Beach is NOT suitable for swimming.) Only a five minute trip to/from the airport. Easy access to North Shore and restaurants close by. Two big complaints or we would have given it 5 stars. First, is that parking is a long way from the building, and the actually charge you a substantial amount to park, even though it is out in the middle of the country, and not in a big city. Second is the relatively substantial wi-fi fee charged. Staff were very helpful and courteous. Breakfast buffet was good, but not great. Didn't eat any other meals here.

Room Tip: Don't spend extra for ocean view.

Hotel along quiet part of beach.

The hotel is very spread out, and it can be a long walk from parking lot to lobby, and potentially lobby to rooms. A rental car is definitely helpful, as there isn't really anything near the hotel. Food inside the resort is also quite expensive.

The front desk staff were helpful when available, but had a habit of disappearing from the desk for 10 minutes every time I showed up.

We arrived to Kauai Beach Resort after spending a week in Maui. The service of the staff was outstanding. They always visited with us when we would return from our long days of exploring the island.

They upgraded both my parents (celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary) and us (just got married the day before).

We ate at Shutter, the bar/restaurant, every night we were there. The happy hour Mai Tai's at the pool bar were great! We enjoyed the pool and grotto and the hot tub. Our room was great...the perfect honeymoon destination.

I even got a kick out of our rooster wake up call each morning!

Room Tip: I actually think any room would be nice in this place, all angles of the grounds are meticulously ma...
