I've stayed at several different Marriott's through the exchange, and this was the least relaxing I've experienced. It was just too big, confusing to get around and inefficient to get from one place to another (a lot of back tracking required). We were traveling with an infant and the handicap/stroller accessibility was less than ideal. The couch is horribly uncomfortable, the fridge froze all of our food, the remote didn't work and the toilet was prone to run. I would not stay here again, but maybe I'm a snob.

Room Tip: Try to get a newly remodeled room, and request to be in the main tower, it is far from the front des...

Stayed at the Marriott Beach club for a total of 8 nights in August in 2 different rooms. First a one bedroom with a separate living room with a fold out bed. The fold out bed reeked of urine. Asked front desk to switch mattress out, they never relayed message to housekeeping, called again later and mattress was switched out. Also stayed in a 2 bedroom ocean view, and the place was dirty, black mildew in the bathroom, dirty q-tips on the floor, cobwebs and dust. I was so surprised as we have stayed here many times in the past and loved the place. They must have seriously cut the house keeping budget. Stayed up at the Kauai lagoons and it was new, beautiful and clean! But we didn't have full use of the resort at the Beach Club. But the difference in the rooms was so striking, that we will not stay at the Beach Club in the future. The pool is great though and the size of the rooms is good. Just needs a remodel or major cleaning.

My wife and I visited for our one year anniversary and had an amazing time. Our time share was right on the boardwalk for the beach. We left the doors open from the time we arrived until the time we left. The staff was awesome. We didn't valet our vehicle but we did use the bellman services a few times and the were very professional. The pool was very relaxing. We reserved a cabana one day for only $40. All in all this is a very well run resort and we will be back!

I don't think I've ever checked out of a hotel early in forty years of traveling. However, I left the Marriott Kauai Beach Club after one night in the most grim room I have ever seen. Tired "motel style" furniture and old musty curtains plus our confirmed "oceanview deluxe" room had a view of only the roof and skylights of the building in front of us (see attached photo). I notified the front desk agents of my displeasure, and they assured me (at 2:00PM) that the hotel was full and no room changes were possible. I spoke with the front office manager, who sang the same tune. I offered to pay extra just to change to some other room, to no avail. This room was so depressing we left the next morning, willing to risk our advance payments just to escape this dreary scene. This hotel is big, but frankly, that's all it is. Kauai is too beautiful to waste your time at this Marriott hotel/time share experiment. Budget travelers might not mind this place, but anyone wanting a hotel with any trace of luxury or service should steer clear.

Room Tip: Best advice for a good room here - I don't think there are any!

Very nice hotel with lots of facilities available. The swimming pool was great and the sea is just next to it. The room was spacious and had a nice view of the swimming pool. Definitely value for money.
The golf club next to the hotel is very impressive and it is definitely worth a visit. As to the beach, it offers water-sports activities, but if you want to see amazing beaches just go to the north side of the island.

it would be difficult to complain about anything if you are lucky enough to go to kauai. i was lucky enough to spend a week last december, enjoying the most beautiful resort on the "gardenIsland" of kauai. the staff was extremely well trained, ready to help in any way. The setting was a "movie" set - the gentle breezes blowing thru the open lobby, restaurants and bars along with occasional gentle showers and the ever-present rolling surf. A more relaxing place would be hard to find.Well run, extremely clean and a treasure in the Pacific! I want to go back!!

Room Tip: go high. best views of ocean, palms and sunsets

Words alone cannot describe how exquisite this Marriott is. We arrived late at night so we did not realize how close we were to the surf when we awoke and looked out over the baclony. The pool complex below and the beach about 1,000 feet away was wonderful . The views from every angle were breathtaking, The series of pools and fountaions was picture-perfect, and boy did we take the pictures to prove it! The sheltered cove was the perfect place to take in the sun, while the view of the departing cruise ship on the other side of our cove made for a perfect beach visit. The rich teak historic outrigger canoe nestled amongst the gothic pillars in the lobby and the koi fish pond across the hall were luxurious, yet they made the lobby seem somehow cozy. I am a bit scotch, so I have to comment that the cost of breakfast by the pool. Though we didn't exactly load up our plates, what we had it It was worth every penny, and there were no surprises as the price of everything was clearly marked. The servers were very friendly. The concierge gracefully allowed us to check out late and we took advantage of his generous hospitality. The only downside of our stay was that we were only there one night and had to leave Hawaii the following evening. That was a wonderful place to stay on our last night on Kauai. I cannot say enough about how wonderful the Marriott kaua'i beach Club. A resounding Mahalo Nui Loa!!
