Large venue and they were able to take care of lots of guests in a short period of time. Good food and a great show.

We really enjoyed this luau! The family atmosphere is amazing and we felt very welcomed. Don't eat a lot the day of the luau, they so much food to get 2nd and 3rd helpings! The show at the end was fantastic as well. I would recommend this luau to anyone!

we arrived a little later and caught one of the last trams around the gardens. The gardens are beautiful and the tram tour was nice.
the Imu ceremony was neat to see, but people tended to "insert" themselves towards to front often blocking our view. Same goes for people taking photos with iPads and having their cases open like a book.
I have mixed feelings for the dinner seating. It's basically a free-for-all except the bus tours. well we didn't realize people had gone around placing jackets or napkins down to unofficially reserve their spot so our family of four almost had to split up. so we were left scrambling for 4 seats. we ended up outside of the main dining area, but it turned out to be a bit of a blessing in disguise since we had a bit of a breeze as the sun went down. still, we would have not been too happy if we had to split up. just assign seating when you buy a ticket.
on the positive side, drinks were included and the food was amazing! I tried all four food groups (chicken, pork, beef and fish lol) Couldn't bring myself to try the poi.
we learned from our lessons at dinner and left a little early to get our seats early for the luau. obviously the show is cultured and culture isn't really my thing but when in Hawaii...the show was good but a little long for our party. of the highlight near the end was the fire dancer. Incredible stuff.
after the show we hoped in our rental car and it was an easy exit and drive off.

We knew we only wanted to do one luau when we got to Hawaii, and we were told that Smith's was the best. We were not disappointed.
Your ticket gets you into the property early where you get a tram tour of the grounds. After that, you can walk around, pick out a seat for dinner, before the imu ceremony. Once that is done, a band is playing and you can get your drinks, and sit down and meet your tablemates. They call you up by table to get the food which is very good. After dessert you walk to the theater area where you see the show. It is a little hokey at times, but overall we had a very good time, and I would recommend this luau.

We were a little skeptical, as we are not into hoaky fake tourist attraction type things, preferring natural wonders when we go travelling
We just felt though we should experience a Luau on our honeymoon
We were glad we chose this one
The Smith Family property is on the river and the gardens are absolutely beautiful. we were free to stroll the grounds before dinner, so we took a lot of pictures of the beautiful flowers, trees and wildlife. Peacocks were in full display.
Dinner was a buffet, the food was plentiful but just ok. Did really enjoy the Kahlua pig. It was fascinating to watch them take it out of the Pit and explain how it was cooked. Loved hearing the history of the family as well
Open bar, but again we did not take advantage, one cocktail and a glass of wine.
The show was fun, the rhythms hypnotizing, I loved that they featured all the different cultures that make up Hawaii and their particular contributions to the different dances.
