My husband and I had a great time here. Very close to the airport which is a plus to us and also to rental agency. Staff super attentive, Mr. Napoleon, Michael Jordan, Faith, Chad, Moani at the concierge desk, Rhonda. Our room was very comfortable, nice view, even though they are undergoing renovations, we did not hear a thing at any time. Pool is magnificent, the beach great. I don't know what one reviewer is talking about when he says "the bath tub required a rocket scientist" It was so easy to use. You have to use your own judgement when following reviews.
Beautiful hotel grounds... I dont think you would be dissapointed.

Let's see...there were stains on the curtain (shower and lanai), the bed description and photos were deceptive, the bath tub requires a rocket scientist to use the shower (it took four employees to finally tell me how to use it), the sink is short enough for a 5yr old, the elevator center of the hotel was broke, the "linger longer" program is a complete joke - they tell you to inquire about it, but when you do no one seems to know anything and the next thing you know it's time to check out - which is the next ridiculous thing - a 1000 checkout, the phone was broke and I barely had cell reception and almost no internet ad advertised, and clearly no one asked me about my stay as I departed because I am sure they knew it sucked. Back to the bed, this small piece of crap was not only hard as hell, but I almost died trying to release it from the wall and fell over it several times because pieces of it sticks out - which you don't notice until you've already tripped over it! The furniture and the hotel is a joke, there has been so much money spent on the grounds and lobby, but the rooms look like they were bombed during WWII. Lastly, the name and location is confusing - there are two hotels with the same address (the beach club and the resort) yet they have two separate review spots on all hotel sites and two separate prices for rooms...and when you arrive, the name at the hotel's entrance says "Marriott lagoon". WILL DEFINITELY WRITE MY REVIEW ON TO WARN OTHERS AND MARRIOTT SHOULD BE ASHAMED TO CHARGE VERY HIGH PRICES FORTHIS OLD, RAGGEDY HOTEL.

Room Tip: Go to another hotel

My husband I stayed at the Marriott. He's on business and I tagged along. The resort was beautiful, the service was great at all the restaurants and in the hotel. The resort offers several restaurants on site and many that are within walking distance. The pool is gorgeous. We had an ocean view room and the view of the bay is amazing. I never get sick of that view. The hotel is older, but still very nice. It's close to the airport, Costco, Wal mart, Macy's, etc. You can purchase a "Mahalo mug" and get refills on coffee and soft drinks. The terrace is open early in the morning for coffee and pastries. It's a nice place to sit and relax while overlooking the pool. The Kalapaki grill was very good. It's right next to the pool/beach area. They have waitresses that come around and take your food and drink order while you lounge by the pool. I would definitely visit this hotel again.

Room Tip: Ask for ocean view!

Used extra Marriott points to get an ocean view room. Room assigned looked out on pool. If you went out on balcony and looked to the left you had a partial view of the industrial harbor. After complaining, on 3rd night of stay was moved to a room with a true ocean view, although still mostly of harbor. Hotel pales in comparison with the true resorts in Poipu and Princeville. AVOID.

We stayed here 2 days, one night before heading to the North Shore. We chose this place because it is so very close to the airport and there is a free shuttle from the airport. This place is not bad. It really isn't. It just isnt great. I would give it 3 1/2 stars.

Here are the great things: Clean, fast shuttle, gorgeous view from the pool and the deluxe ocean view rooms ( I suggest getting one), big pool and cute kiddie pool, close walk to Dukes, nice beach and calm ocean that is good for kids.

Things that need work: This place needs a full remodel. It is outdated. We paid a lot of money for a room with popcorn ceiling. Although the view is amazing you do face the area where boats pass into the marina. Some are large barges being towed by tug boats. If you are 5 years old then that can be pretty cool. But I personally felt it made it seem more industrial. Not to mention many planes come by but that is to be expected since part of the draw for us was proximity to airport.

Room Tip: Deluxe ccean view has a stunning view.

Marriott's Kauai Resort is big, no, actually huge.

Set on Kalapaki Bay, it fills about 80 of the land area of the Cove. It has a nice restaurant, but attached is also Duke's Restaurant an island institution (actually the first of the duke's chain).

The facility is a part of the Marriott Timeshare program, but it is also a hotel.

It is an amazing resort, but most amazing is the pool; easily the biggest on the island, perhaps in the state.

The location is center to Kalapaki Bay with lots of restaurants in the area. It is also only 5 minutes to the Lihue airport.

The normal rooms arre typical Marriott Hotel. When combined with a second room, they become a typical Marriott 2 bedroom timeshare suite.

Overall, this is a great place to stay. It has almost everything a visitor would wish for, and as a Marriott, it is done well.

Let me start by saying the pool is fabulous. It is huge and there is more than enough room for a kids' area as well as a water volleyball area and an adult hangout area. Everyone is happy. The beach is just down from the pool and is just ok compared to the well-kept pool area. We had a couples' massage by the water and it was very relaxing. The restaurants are pretty good, though really expensive (to be expected). We have a terrible food allergy in the family and the kitchen was very mindful of providing safe alternatives. If you want to eat elsewhere, just down the road there is a small strip mall with some restaurants and a food shack. We have stayed here three times and it seems like the rooms are always in the process of being renovated, but they are nice and clean. The grounds are lush and really lovely. I would gladly stay here again.

Room Tip: Garden view rooms are nice and feel more fresh to me than staying in the touristy tower with the oce...
