Mike and Alexis run a very slick operation at Majorie's Inn. When we arrived, we were greeted with a welcome plate of fresh fruits, cake, juice and coffee and they were extremely helpful in recommending activities we could do and lending a hand in booking them for us. Breakfast was a treat, especially when Alexis made us Hawaiian French toast one morning. They had a garage full of water sports gear (snorkelling masks, fins, surf shoes), beach stuff (cooler box, beach chairs) and even a kayak that we were able to freely borrow and use. And if you don't fancy hitting the beach or leaving the B&B, you could take a swim in their lovely pool (something we unfortunately were not able to do as there was so much to do on the island). For those wanting to write a quick email to make those at home jealous, Mike readily offered his laptop and to gain internet access.

  • Liked — The garage chock full of water toys
  • Disliked — We found the very steep driveway a bit tricky -- but it could be just our incompetent driving!

We highly recommend Marjorie's Inn. It's all that you want and more. We stayed in two different rooms - the furnishings are very nice. The outdoor patios are spacious and overlook a beautiful valley. The inn keepers are very helpful - and had some great restaurant recommendations. I found the salt water pool very cool and refreshing in hot Kauai. We would go back to Marjorie's - and recommend it to you.

We had a few days in the Tradewinds room - the photo on the website does not do it justice - it was SO beautiful. We had a couple of friendly geckos come and wish us a happy holiday and that's what this was. The welcome was wonderful - we felt relaxed immediately. The lanai was a perfect place to watch the valley and later in the evening the moon and Venus. The breakfast was gorgeous and set us up for the day whether we were diving, snorkelling or getting caffeined up at the Kalaheo Coffee Company. The advice to take a helicopter trip was brilliant as we would never have contemplated doing it - it was awesome. The pool was the perfect place to chill out in the late afternoon.
Think we've used all our supply of superlative adjectives now so that's all folks!

My husband and I spent a week at Marjorie's Kauai Inn for our honeymoon... it was perfect!!! We stayed in the Sunset room, which has a beautiful view and its own private hot tub, as well as a sitting area and a mini kitchenette. Alexis and Mike are the perfect hosts- we appreciated all their suggestions of where to go and what to do, and we loved the delicious breakfasts every morning. One surprise that we didn't expect was that the Inn stocks all the things you'll need for a vacation in Kauai- beach towels and chairs, snorkel equipment, bikes and kayaks you can borrow, even a boogie board!! It was so nice to have all the gear handy without having to rent it. Alexis will also book trips and dinner reservations if you want. It really is the perfect place to stay, and we will recommend it to anyone going to Hawaii!!!

After 9 great weeks in New Zealand and Australia, we chose 3 nights at Marjorie's Kauai Inn to finish our vacation and were really glad we did.
We stayed in the Tradewinds room, which was the smallest but very cosy and beautiful, with a large lanai overlooking the valley.
Loved the little touches such as the fruit and pastry in the fridge and the robes.
Daniela and Michael were perfect hosts and helped us to book a fantastic helicopter tour of Kauai. We really enjoyed the warm discussions with them and the way they made us feel at home.
Would definitely recommend to family and friends...

If you are searching for the picture perfect rainbow, then at Marjories Inn on the island of Kauai is where you will find it. Our 8-night stay at Marjories Inn was our first experience at a B&B and we couldn’t have been more pleased with the accommodations, beautiful weather and our hosts Daniela and Michael. In terms of customer service and value it was second to none. We stayed in the Valley View room, which included a very comfortable bed and quality linens. Our private lanai was more than you would ever get at a large resort; approx 15 ft x 30 ft, with a lounge chair as well as two tables and 4 chairs; plenty of room to relax and enjoy breakfast, take-out dinner and bottle of wine or just breath in the fresh island air. The extra amenities at no extra charge included the use of mountain bikes, boogie boards and even an ice cooler if you want to pack a lunch for the beach. The view of the valley was majestic and the grounds were impeccable. The continental breakfasts were also very good and Daniela even made crepes one morning with their homemade mango jam.......excellent! Its worth a mention the mangos were picked just outside our room door from the most spectacular mango tree. The fresh grown Kauai coffee was so good we purchased some from a local store to bring back home. We wanted a more personal experience which is why we decided to try a B & B and happily we got exactly what we were hoping for. Last but not least, our dear hosts Daniela and Michael certainly contributed to our "Best Vacation Ever". From the time they greeted us when we first arrived at the Inn, they both made our stay truly comfortable. (I don’t know of a large resort that offers you a glass of wine when you arrive or asks if you’re hungry after such a long flight). If any of you are wondering if a B&B is the way to go, at Marjories Inn, it definitely is!

  • Liked — The comfortable bed and nice linens and well as the friendly hosts
  • Disliked — Having to park our car on a slope
  • Tips/Secrets — E.B. Eats located at the Poipu Shopping mall is a great place for very good take out that is reasonably priced. Also, visit the outdoor terrace at the Grant Hyatt in the evening if you are looking for good appetizers and fruit smoothies, portions enough as substitute for dinner, its a romantic setting and the view is spectacular.
