We had a nice table with a great view of the ocean. When we asked what type of juice they had, the waiter replied, 'it's on the menu'. We asked, what does 'POG' mean, then he was nicer, and replied, 'Passion, Orange, Guava'. We had the omelets and they were very uninspired. We didn't eat at this or the other hotel restaurants again. But, we were in Kauai! So live and learn; we ate at other island restaurants and they were all good.

A lot of brochures around the island recommend you eat at Lava's. Don't. If you want a delicious meal and a view, you will not get it here. The food was average at best, the drinks were weak, and there was not view to be had unless you were one of the lucky few near a very reflective window that doesn't face the sunset. If you are going to eat here, make sure you call the first day of your trip and ask for a seat near the window and get there a little before sunset so you can at least see the ocean. Once it gets dark, you can't see the scenic view at all. Prices were very high, service was adequate but very unfriendly.

I'm so bummed we wasted $117 plus tip on an awful lunch served with plastic forks! Terrible, not warm processed cheese on top of bought (not house made) stale tortilla chips were a mushy disaster they call nachos! Seared ahi was covered in balsamic. $6 for a 12oz plastic cup of beer, fine. $4 for a kid's pog...whatever. Burger was ordered rare, came med-well. The only redeeming factors were the view and Jancy. 3 other servers told us the outside area was closed then she came as we were leaving and took our order. Seriously embarrassing food.

Happy hour (3-5pm) features drink and food specials! Order the pork nachos without the cheese and sour cream and you are in for a fresh and healthy treat. The truffle fries were delicious as was the hummus and edamame. We did not try sandwiches from there but the cocktails were fantastic. The music is quite good and sometimes live entertainment is available in this open air establishment by the pool and ocean at the Sheraton. Worth checking out! Great service - much better service than Rumfire in every way! Great value too while still having quality.
