Fresh local fish and meats, fresh local produce, and creative flavor combinations make for a wonderful dining experience. My wife loves the Deconstructed Ahi Roll while I'm partial to the Lamb Meatballs. This time we added the Tempura Ahi Roll, the Seared Feta Cheese Salad, and the Rock Shrimp Tempura. Really too much for two, but we've been doing a lot of hiking and used that as justification! Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We noted that we've seen some of the same people working there ever since it opened. That speaks to good management in an industry where servers often seem to come and go with the tide. As others have noted, it can get pretty noisy. Try to get a booth - the intimate setting makes it at least seem quieter.

Josselin's does make excellent food. I especially enjoyed the beef loin, and the mushroom dishes. Did not like to pumpkin ravioli. And the Pina Colada was not especially good, just fair. While the food was generally very good to excellent, I did think it was over-priced. I have been to many a tapas bar, and food is generally very good, but you have to be wary often cost due to the style. This one is a little much. And the atmosphere wasn't all that great- it has a kind of crowded, noisy environment that decreased my enjoyment.

Wanting to stay somewhat local to Poipu area, we chose Josselin's primarily based on others' reviews and because it offered more vegetarian options than most on this side of the island, so all of us would find something to eat (vegetarian and omnivores). We had a reservation, and seating and service was quite good. Our servers were informative, helpful, cheerful and attentive. The variety of food on the menu was extensive, well prepared, eclectic and nicely plated. Although the vegetarian options were somewhat skimpy, it was easy to find a few that could be modified by removing the bacon from the preparation the roasted portabellas and portabella pucks were very good). The price of each selection, even taking into account the fact we're on an island that caters to tourists and locals alike, was a bit on the high side compared to other Tapas restaurants we've experienced. As a party of 5, we were able to sample quite a bit (scallops, steamed buns with duck confit, braised pork belly, braised short ribs, lamb meatballs, the two mushroom dishes). The food was served with excellent timing and paired well, so we could enjoy the variety without being swamped with the selections all at once and without having to wait for the next selections. Overall a nice dinner and evening. There is carryover noise from the restaurant next door (and on the first level), which was somewhat distracting, but that's not something Josselin's Tapas controls.

Josselin's offers a nice experience to try out multiple food choices in one sitting. They were extremely helpful regarding allergies to ingredients, which was no small task given the orders. It was noisy, not so much due to the number of people there, but to the overall design of the space. It was decorated, but didn't seem to have a personality. Most of the food we tried was good. The desserts I would say were average. The staff were pleasant. An interesting time but not one I would have repeated often if at all.

We visit this restaurant every year. We have never been disappointed with food, drinks and service. Ryan's (bartender) new creation...Green Flash is a must for cocktails lovers! The food was excellent...whether you are going for meat or for vegetarian items..you will not be disappointed. Only suggestion would be to add some ceiling "cloth" to absorb the noise as my husband wears hearing aids so we always ask for the quietest area.
