We had a great time at the lighthouse and wanted a snack before heading back to Poipu. Ordered fish tacos as well as the ahi poke. One or the other would have been more than enough for the 2 of us. Great fish.

We had fresh Ono plate lunches on paper plates in the shade. The fish was good and the price was right. A pleasant place to get good fish on the way to the lighthouse.

Yuck. Wife and I ordered a plate of fish tacos. We go to Sayulita every year and don't eat fish a lot - but look forward to it in Mexico. So we thought this place would be legit after many recommendations from friends, the b&b, co-workers, Tripadvisor, etc.

The tacos were on a cold flour tortilla. Yuck. The fish was cold/ambient and dry. Yuck. It was piled high with cold iceberg lettuce and shredded cheese with some cold sauce and salsa. Yuck. Imagine biting into a cold tortilla filled with these cold ingredients - no good.

The weird part is that we ordered the tofu wrap, and it was great. Good flavor and yummy, but more importantly, the tortilla was warm and there was slaw inside it.

So... Why didn't they just do that for the fish taco? Do they not know that fish tacos are a relatively simple recipe? Grilled corn tortilla, grilled fish, slaw. That is it. Add hot sauce or other stuff if you want, but those three ingredients get you 90% there.

Also - had the Mac salad and wasn't too pumped on that either.

Maybe food in Kauai is just horrible and this is the best that is out there.
