We visited this site as it had been the first stop during our honeymoon many years ago. This time my parents and our kids joined us. Beautiful views, native plants and birds made this a pleasant educational stop. Artwork by talented Hawaiian artist, Patrick Ching grace the site. Descriptive plaques inform visitors about the unique flora and fauna surrounding the site. My highlights were seeing a Hawaiian monk seal basking in the bay below the lighthouse, seeing my son find nesting burrows in the landscape (since there are no mongoose on Kauai to prey on nesting birds), and engaging my children different learning activities in the visitor center. We purchased books and other educational materials to take home and remind us of our trip.
