We were staying on the North Shore and it would rain every day. However, we found beautiful Kealia Beach just 20 minutes to the east. Take your own chairs, lunch, drinks and so on. There are some restrooms available, but they are a bit rough. The beach itself is wonderful, the waves are great and you might even see a whale or two. On Friday late afternoon you will see NCL's Pride of America making its way to the Napali Coast Line. So happy we found this beach, it saved our week in Kauai.

Great place to park and walk, do whatever. Was lovely, but then so is the whole island... We went at dawn and again at dusk. Very cool.

Recently visited Kealia beach and it's lovely! It's a big beach area with lots of room to spread out and enjoy. The ocean is rough and there are plenty of surfers, paddlers, and boogie-boarders to keep you occupied as a spectator. There's always a nice breeze, which is needed since there isn't any shade at this beach, and the bike path runs right by this beach. There's also abundant parking, lifeguards, and restrooms. Overall, a great beach to enjoy while in Kauai!

There is an area where it is fairly safe to swim...where the other people are swimming. There is a reason they are there. Watch for orange danger flags. Don't go to far out and hang on to your kids on those rough days! Lifeguards are great, but they are a ways away...over closer to the surfers.Watch for the rocks and holes. Great waves close in. Enjoy!
